Given that the role of information technology (IT) governance and enterprise risk management (ERM) within the organization are imperative due to the ever-increasing complexity in the corporate environment, this study aims to uncover the relationship between IT governance and ERM along with the impact of the two frameworks’ interconnectedness on the organization’s performance through empirical literature review. Furthermore, the findings obtained from the empirical review are also used to create a checklist that every organization can apply. The purpose of the created checklist is to help organizations examine the interconnectedness of their IT governance and ERM with respect to their needs and objectives. The findings from the empirical review show that both IT governance and ERM emphasize the importance of strategic and process alignment regarding its implementation, and it is positively significant to the organization’s performance. Hence, the level of effectiveness of one’s IT- and risk-oriented approaches are dictated by how well an organization appropriately aligns its IT governance and ERM structure, mechanism, and process with its objectives, needs, and business operations.

This research is related to High School Institutions (HSI) readiness and usability that provides Information Technology Governance Trust (ITGT). The findings based on the literature review provide the initial construction and subsequently become a model conceptual framework. The comparison results with previous research indicate an influence between readiness and usability to user trust when implementing Information Technology Governance (ITG.) in an institution. The impact was identified through past literature, namely assessing the relationship between the Readiness Domain and the Usability Domain towards ITG. ABSTRACT Objective: this work emphasizes the information technology governance (ITG) behavioral expression and aims to identify whether individual behavior contributes to the increase of the perceived maturity of the ITG mechanisms. The organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) concept was the base to develop a model of relations between individual behavior and ITG maturity. Methods: we carried out a survey with 243 IT personnel of the executive branch of a Brazilian state government. We used partial least squares as data analysis technique. Results: the findings show the existence of a positive and significant relationship between the variable spirit of initiative and the perceived maturity of the ITG mechanisms. Conclusions: the impact of ITG changes in individuals’ behavior needs to be considered, which reinforces that ITG is a critical resource for implementing public policies and executing governmental strategies. In order to raise the IT governance maturity, managers should foster the spirit of initiative in their teams, acting on their antecedents such as feelings of control, complexity, self-efficacy, and responsibility for changes. Consequently, individuals can make a deliberate decision, constantly evaluating the likely outcomes of their behaviors in favor of the adoption of ITG mechanisms.
