Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to present supply chain metrics and to propose a fuzzy-based performance evaluation method for lean supply chain. Design/methodology/approach – To understand the overall performance of cost competitive supply chain the paper investigates the alignment of market strategy and position of the supply chain. Since lean is applicable in many supply chains, the authors propose a set of metrics to evaluate supply chain performance. Moreover, the paper uses a fuzzy model to evaluate the performance of cost competitive supply chains. Fuzzy is an appropriate model method when uncertainty is present. It also allows modelling of a significant number of performance metrics across multiple supply chain elements and processes. Competitive strategy can be achieved by using a different weight calculation for different supply chain situations. Findings – Research provides optimal metrics for lean supply chains. The proposed method can measure the performance of lean supply chains using a fuzzy approach and competitive strategies. Research limitations/implications – The metrics which have been selected to measure the performance of lean supply chains is particularly applicable for high volume, low-price products. Practical implications – By identifying optimal performance metrics and applying performance evaluation methods, managers can predict the overall supply chain performance under lean strategy. By identifying performance for each metric they can also categorize the existing performance and optimise them accordingly. Originality/value – This study provides a performance evaluation method for supply chain managers to assess the effects of lean tools and competitive strategies.

Supply chain brings about many kinds of risk, as well as the competitive and marginal advantage. The financial risk of supply chain combines both supply chain risk and financial risk and leads the new research direction of supply chain management. Through analyzing the characteristics of manufacturing firms and concluding characteristic of financial risk transformation, the financial risk of manufacturing firms is classified. After the industry-based financial risk valuation index system is built, the Multi-level Fuzzy Evaluation method is used to evaluate it.

To overcome the inefficiency arising from the separate use of conventional forecast accuracy measures that suffer from the bullwhip effect, especially in uncertain and vague supply chain environments, a forecast accuracy measure, Mean Local Trend Error (MLTE) and a fuzzy-inference-based multicriteria evaluation method are proposed. In contrast to conventional measures, MLTE survives the bullwhip effect by evaluating forecasts based on local trend error. The proposed evaluation method applies fuzzy inference to deal with the uncertainty and vagueness in supply chains and makes a comprehensive evaluation by using an aggregated forecast accuracy index (ACCURACY), which is developed based on fuzzy inference by integrating the proposed MLTE and a conventional measure MAPE, thereby enhancing its efficiency for evaluating supply chain demand forecasts. The proposed MLTE and evaluation method are confirmed by comparative experiments with MAPE based on evaluating four typical forecasting methods – a simple moving average, single exponential smoothing, autoregressive, and autoregressive moving average – on an actual manufacturing-order dataset. The results show that MLTE yields a triple and ACCURACY a quadruple improvement in terms of average distinguishability compared to MAPE. The proposal has potential applications in stock market forecast evaluations.

This paper first introduces research about green supply chain management, and points out the differences between green supply chain management and traditional supply chain management according to the characteristics of green supply chain. Then, the paper analyses the sources of risk in green supply chain management fundamentally and constructs a risk evaluation system owing to the classification of sources. Finally paper makes a quantitative analysis to the risk of green supply chain with the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.

According to the definition of integrated supply chain performance, improved method of grey relational evaluation and multi-level dynamic fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method are adopted to comprehensively evaluate the overall performance of the integrated supply chain. Based on these, the Performance Evaluation System (PES) of the integrated supply chain is developed on MATLAB software platform. In the end, the validity and feasibility of the system is validated by an example, and the system can provide a convenient operation tool and scientific, objective decision basis for managers to evaluate the integrated supply chain performance.

In the current digital information age, logistics is no longer the isolated transportation and storage of enterprises, nor is it the appendage of enterprise production and sales. This paper studies the logistics informatization of industrial enterprises and its application in industrial supply chain management under the background of big data. By analyzing the formation mechanism and covering modules of logistics informatization, this paper constructs the evaluation index system of logistics enterprise informatization. Based on the fuzzy evaluation method and the specific data of logistics information modernization of Chinese enterprises, this paper gives an application example of the evaluation model. Finally, this paper puts forward a reasonable analysis of the information construction of China's logistics enterprises in the future. The results show that this method can improve the efficiency of logistics informatization and supply chain management of industrial enterprises, and has certain reference significance for the research of logistics intelligence of industrial enterprises.
