IUE has been used to study 11 high luminosity X-ray binaries, of which 3 are in the Magellanic Clouds. In the supergiant systems, X-ray ionisation bubbles have been found in most cases, leading to a greater understanding of the winds and accretion processes. Further studies of precessing objects such as LMC X-4 with IUE and ST are clearly of considerable interest, relating to X-ray heating and blanketing. Detailed studies of the Cyg X-l ionisation bubble may resolve the long standing puzzle of its orbit inclination and masses. UV continua have furnished valuable information on extinction, temperatures and luminosities, and the presence of non-stellar (i.e. disk) luminosity. Here too, more detailed studies are clearly indicated for the future. A unique object of interest is the LMC transient 0538-66 whose UV spectrum has quasarlike lines and luminosity which varies oppositely to the visible. This may be a case of supercritical accretion generating an optically thick shell (“disk”) about the pulsar.

This article develops a framework for applying organizational narrative theory to understand project narratives that potentially perform and change the future. Project narratives are temporal but often get repeated throughout the project life cycle to stabilize meaning, and could be about project mission, vision, identity, value creation, and so forth. Project narratives have important implications for organizational identity and image crafting. This article differentiates among different types of project narratives in relation to a project life cycle, providing case studies of project narratives on three major UK rail projects. We then set out the future research agenda into project narrative work.

The performance and emission characteristics of diesel engines are largely governed by fuel atomization and spray processes which in turn are strongly influenced by the flow dynamics inside the injector nozzle. Accurate measurement of the nozzle geometry is important for the study of the flow dynamics. Using the third-generation synchrontron radiation light source of the ShangHai Light Source (SSRF), the research team successfully captured the internal structure images of the single hole nozzle and multi-hole nozzle. According to the captured images, the researchers clearly observed the internal structure of nozzle as well as the sac region. The diameter and length of the nozzles and orifice angle were also be accurately measured.
