In this paper, we propose analytic models for throughput and latency performance of the IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol operating under very low duty cycles In the Internet of Things applications. Our analytic models are intended for IEEE 802.15.4 MAC protocol in beacon-enabled star topology with light traffic conditions. Accuracy of the analytic models are verified through extensive simulations using the network simulator ns-2. A strong agreement between simulation results and our theoretical analysis is observed. In addition, we compare throughput and latency performance of two different CSMA/CA protocols in IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11. This is motivated by a significant discrepancy of the CSMA/CA mechanism: IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11. We observe a remarkable difference in throughput between two protocols. The simulation results also demonstrate an interesting fact that increasing the packet size will degrade the throughput of IEEE 802.15.4 due to the nature of the CSMA/CA mechanism, while a throughput improvement is usually expected.

A dual-stator toroidal motor with hybrid excitation was proposed and its structure and operating principal were introduced. The spiral currents of worm armature coils were resolved into two orthogonal components. The FEM analytic models for current components were built. Distributions of static magnetic field were simulated. Air gap flux density curves were obtained. The simulation results justify the rationality of the electromagnetic parameters of the motor. The research results are useful for analyzing electromagnetic characteristics of the motor, and offer meaningful instruction for further research and practical application of the novel motor.

In this paper, a novel dual-stator permanent magnet machine (DsPmSynM) with low cost and high torque density is designed. The winding part of the DsPmSynM adopts phase-group concentrated-coil windings, and the permanent magnets are arranged by spoke-type. Firstly, the winding structure reduces the amount of copper at the end of the winding. Secondly, the electromagnetic torque ripple of DsPmSynM is suppressed by reducing the cogging torque. Furthermore, the dynamic performance of DsPmSynM is studied. Finally, the experimental results are compared with the simulation results.

SKK Migas plans to apply end-to-end security based on Web Services Security (WS-Security) for Sistem Operasi Terpadu (SOT). However, there are no prototype or simulation results that can support the plan that has already been communicated to many parties. This paper proposes an experiment that performs PRODML data transfer using WS-Security by altering the WSDL to include encryption and digital signature. The experiment utilizes SoapUI, and successfully loaded PRODML WSDL that had been altered with WSP-Policy based on X.509 to transfer a SOAP message.
