No âmbito da renovação dos estudos sobre a história do pensamento geográfico, este artigo se opõe as interpretações que consagraram Paul Vidal de la Blache como um intelectual restrito às relações homem-meio e nostálgico da França camponesa. Uma leitura mais atent valiando a dinâmica sócio-econômica e seus impactos espaciais, a contribuição de Vidal de la Blache propunha, como solução para o futuro da França, uma nova regionalização do território nacional. Abstract This article presents a new perspective in the history of geographic thought, by opposing established approaches to Paul Vidal de Ia Blache as an intelectual restrict to relations man-environment and as a nostalgic of peasant France. A deeper reading of his work reveals a progressive passage from an initial "naturalistic" view to a socio-economic and urban-industrial approach. Through these economic impacts, Vidal proposes, as a solution for the future of France, a new regionalization of national temtory.

Environmental conservation through the creation of protected areas is recognised as a key tactic in the fight against degrading ecosystems worldwide. Understanding the implications of protected area regimes on both places and people is an important part of the protection agenda. In this context and in this paper, we build on the work of feminist legal geographers and feminist political ecologists to enhance our understanding of the constitution of localised socio-legal-environmental interactions in and around protected areas. Our approach looks to developments in feminist and legal geographic thought to examine the interactions between identities, law and the environment in a Ramsar protected wetland on the Tonle Sap, Cambodia. We bring together legal geography perspectives regarding the spatiality of law with insights from feminist political ecology examining gendered roles and exclusions. We found that conservation areas interact in complex ways with local pre-existing norms prescribing female weakness and vulnerability which, ultimately, restrict women’s spatial lives.

Considerando a centralidade da Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC) no cenário das políticas de currículo, este trabalho propõe a reflexão sobre o caráter negligente de seus pressupostos para com a pesquisa acumulada ao longo do tempo, nos campos do Currículo e Educação Geográfica. Assim sendo, apropriamos dois convites de trabalhos de Janet Miller e Ivor Goodson, para pensarmos a política em questão. Além destes autores, também pautamos nossa argumentação com os estudos de Elizabeth Macedo e Alice Lopes, nas discussões sobre teoria e política curricular; Lana Cavalcanti e Marcelo Pereira, sobre ensino de geografia; e Ruy Moreira e Milton Santos como acessos ao pensamento geográfico. O texto se inicia pela discussão de currículo, assinalando a dissonância entre a proposta e o debate sobre teoria curricular. Em seguida, a discussão aponta para o caráter antidemocrático que dinamiza a proposta de base, ao negligenciar o debate social acumulado na pesquisa, as experiências cotidianas e a diferença na produção social. Por fim, acenamos para que os argumentos definidos para Geografia não dialogam com o campo e pontuamos que a BNCC desconsidera o caráter transgressor dos processos educativos (e) de produção de sentido sobre e na escola, no e sobre o espaço.PALAVRAS-CHAVEBase Nacional Comum Curricular, Currículo, Educação Geográfica.CURRICULUM THEORY AND GEOGRAPHY: invitations to the BNCC reflectionABSTRACTConsidering the centrality of the National Curriculum Base (BNCC) in the curriculum policy scenario, this paper proposes to reflect on the negligence of its assumptions towards the research accumulated over time in the fields of Curriculum and Geographic Education. So we took two invitations from Janet Miller and Ivor Goodson to think about the policy in question. In addition to these authors, we also set out our arguments with the studies of Elizabeth Macedo and Alice Lopes, in the discussions on theory and curricular policy; Lana Cavalcanti and Marcelo Pereira, on geography teaching; and Ruy Moreira and Milton Santos as access to geographic thought. The text begins with the discussion of curriculum, pointing out the dissonance between the proposal and the debate about curricular theory. Next, the discussion points to the antidemocratic character that invigorates the basic proposal, neglecting the accumulated social debate in the research, daily experiences and the difference in social production. There are many definitions of the study of geography. Most scholars define the discipline of geography as broadly concerned with the study of the earth’s environment and interpretation of the different natural and man-made phenomena that occur across it. Geographers are interested in the interrelationships between phenomena across the earth’s landscape in individual locations and across different regions. Though considered a social science by scholars, the field of geography incorporates methods and techniques that relate the study of geography to a variety of disciplines, such as anthropology, geology, ecology, political science, transportation, health, engineering, and library and information science. The multidisciplinary nature of geography provides opportunities for scholars in the discipline to apply these geographic concepts to many areas of study. The application of geographic techniques to new areas of study has provided the impetus for proposing new hypotheses and testing theories in different disciplines. The research has advanced geographic thought beyond established paradigms, as scholars use computer applications and remotely sensed data to redefine concepts of geographic space and to study the phenomena that occur in them.
