Nuclear Power Project Performance Management System Research Based on the KPIs

The foothold of this paper is the systematic mechanism of the performance management. Combining with the company’s current situation and requirements of the nuclear power project management, we build a scientific and effective performance management system of the nuclear power project which using the KPI method as the core. This system includes KPIs library development, performance management plan preparation, process control and supervision, performance evaluation, outcome feedback and application. We aim to improve the project management efficiency, and promote the standardization and systematization of the nuclear power project performance management. This article has an important reference and guidance for nuclear power project management, and continuous improvement will be made to achieve the best practice in the nuclear industry.

This paper aims to present a principle to the business school institution that have slight familiarity in espousing benchmarking toward better performance. This is done since designing performance management system, espescially in defining key indicators is essential in achieving improvement process and better service. One approach to assist institution -notwithstanding with some pitfalls in it- is benchmarking. Moreover given the fact that industry best practice may never be found as it also relate with organizational culture, the criteria to adopt benchmarking strategy become crucial. The study conducts through a series of descriptive study to top nine Indonesia’s business schools. The research stages start with literature surveys of several published article in international journal related with benchmarking criteria and adoption that have been done by previous researchers. Followed by descriptive study through observation, interviews, document reviews, and filling out the questionnaire by the dean or vice dean of academic as well as the quality assurance administrator. By accomplishing analysis, it revealed four factors with internal factors as the most influential factors on benchmarking criteria and adoption, followed by functional; competitive factors; and the last is process, and along with factor analysis came up ten criteria for benchmark strategy implementation. By carrying out such research finding, it will be useful as a basis for decision maker in formulating the business school’s strategy for enhancing the global competitiveness for the foreseeable future.

PT. X merupakan perusahaan yang memiliki bisnis pada bidang kuliner. Sejak didirikan hingga saat ini, PT. X belum pernah mencapai target secara sempurna. Pimpinan PT. X merasa hal tersebut disebabkan karena faktor internal dan faktor eksternal perusahaan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan intervensi yang dapat mengatasi permasalahan tersebut, yaitu penerapan performance management system berbasis balanced scorecard, karena dapat mendukung peningkatan kinerja perusahaan melalui pengelolaan sumber daya manusia dengan mempertimbangkan kondisi internal dan eksternal perusahaan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan intervensi berupa rancangan performance management system berbasis balanced scorecard yang paling sesuai dengan PT. X untuk meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan melalui pengelolaan sumber daya manusia. Metode penelitian ini adalah research & development. Hasil rancangan intervensi yang telah dirumuskan berupa performance management system pada tahap prerequisites (rumusan harapan pimpinan dan skema arahan strategi, balanced scorecard (objective).Hasil evaluasi terhadap rancangan intervensi, yaitu secara keseluruhan para rater menilai rancangan intervensi yang dirumuskan telah tepat dalam mengatasi permasalahan yang dihadapi, namun pada beberapa hal kurang aplikatif jika saat ini langsung diterapkan di perusahaan. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa rancangan intervensi yang telah dirumuskan ini dapat diterima oleh pihak ahli dan user, meskipun terdapat beberapa catatan yang membangun untuk menyempurnakan rancangan intervensi yang telah dirumuskan. Saran yang dapat diberikan berdasarkan penelitian ini, yaitu penelitian selanjutnya harus tetap mengacu pada konsep performance management system tahap prerequisites yang telah dirumuskan, agar pengembangan tetap terintegrasi dengan arah, tujuan, dan strategi perusahaan, serta PT. X juga perlu melakukan pilot test untuk menguji keefektifan rancangan intervensi yang telah dirumuskan.
