There is a need to undertake a considerable research and analysis project to search out and gather the requisite information required for business development. A prerequisite is the need to better understand what is meant by the terms data and information, as they are often used interchangeably. What kind of information is required for business development, and where and how it can be found? There is the ‘hard' transaction data from software applications that help manage operations. This data is provided by the information system and can give strategic performance information. A review of the staff competencies can indicate the potential for business advantage. It is helpful to discover the dependencies between business activities. The complexity and volume of data to be searched and analysed indicates a need for a special information management project. It is imperative to store the information appropriately with a clear architectural structure for easy retrieval.

Organization performance management (OPM) has been the threshold of profit and non-profit organizations for a century. OPM took off in the education arena in the past decades with the call for greater responsibility/accountability for education quality assurance and accreditation (QAA). This chapter proposes a strategic performance management system (SPMS) based on MBNQA/EFQM performance excellence frameworks to assess HEI organizational performance. It demonstrates that leadership is the precursor of HEI performance management in other performance criteria through three case studies in Thailand and Saudi Arabia. The HEI assessment of its processes/results using Process ADLI (approach, deployment, learning, integration) and Results LeTCI (levels, trends, comparisons, integration) shows that organization/infor/human capitals (OC/IC/HC) integration, individual/organization learning, and organization agility are the critical foundations for HEI successful OPM.

Digitalization has opened up new methods to promote socialization in all types of organizations, generally, and businesses specifically. Stakeholders now prefer those businesses which are inclined towards social norms and virtues. In the era of digitalization, digital social responsibility (DSR) has become the strategic decision for all kinds of business organizations. Therefore, the aim of the current study was to highlight the achievement of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and strategic performance (SP) through customer engagement with digital social responsibility (DSR). Customer engagement with DSR is also tested as a mediator between DSR and CSR performance, and DSR and SP. Data were collected from the owners/managers of hi-tech Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). For the purpose of data analysis, various statistical procedures were applied. Results proved that DSR plays an essential role in explaining customer engagement with DSR, SP and CSR performance. Customer engagement with DSR directly affects SP and CSR performance, and also acts as a mediator. This study contributes to both theory and practical management by investigating how DSR helps to achieve SP and CSR performance. This is a unique study of the mechanism to achieve SP and CSR performance through DSR and customer engagement with DSR.

Companies follow their objectives with some critical success factors (CSF), and they know their bottlenecks and strong points. This provides decision support for them, but this method ignores overall performance and ranking issues. In this study, a comprehensive methodology is recommended to find out an effective solution to the performance evaluation problem for making strategic performance management. Two methods are used from different areas as a framework. To select the higher-performing departments, Data Envelopment Analyses (DEA) is used as a linear programming-based main method. Moreover, a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method is proposed, Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluations (PROMETHEE), to increase the discrimination power of DEA and eliminate undesirable results because of determining weight bounds. These two methods are combined, and a comprehensive solution model is presented in the study. In the end, a case study is given for a real-life example, an integrated DEA-PROMETHEE method is applied to the case. When the case results are examined, the proposed model produces more logical weight values and better results.

This paper presents the effects between Logistics Network and Value-Added activities 3PL environments and its effect on the Financial and Strategic Performance of Mexican Maquiladoras companies. The significant increase in outsourcing transportation services in freight transport at the border Mexico-United States has inspired this research. The paper presents four hypotheses, tested with data from 158 responses to a questionnaire applied to engineers from the manufacturing industry in Ciudad Juarez (Mexico). The hypotheses were tested statistically using the partial least squares technique. Results indicate that a good design of a Logistics Network has a positive effect on Strategic Performance through transport logistics planning to reduce distribution times and costs. Additionally, the Value-Added services offered by a 3PL positively affect Strategic Performance through labeling-marking, packaging, and reassembling of products. Also, the Strategic Performance has a positive effect on Financial Performance through flexibility and risk minimization of 3PL provider, and this is the enormous effect that arguing theoretically and demonstrating empirically that the outsourcing of 3PL incremented the economic benefits to the quantity of 76.20% between Financial Performance and provides a reference to make decisions according to strategies to incorporate 3PL in such maquiladora industries. Keywords: 3PL, strategic performance, financial performance, structural equations
