The clamp repair technology of subsea oil and gas pipeline has been successfully used in China’s subsea oil and gas pipeline repair projects. However, the key equipment research of flange compression sealing subsea pipeline repair clamp in the technology has just started. The sealing technology is the key technology of subsea oil and gas pipeline repair clamp. The common form of seal in subsea oil and gas pipeline repair clamp is introduced in the paper. The sealing structure of subsea oil and gas pipeline repair clamp is designed and the sealing material is selected for subsea oil and gas pipeline repair clamp. It utilizes the finite element method to calculate sealing property of the rubber sealing which shows the sealing structure can completely meet the sealing request under the pressure of 10 MPa, what can provide a reliable basis for sealing design of subsea oil and gas pipeline repair clamp.

Dents in an oil and gas pipeline can be detected by In-line-Inspection (ILI), and structure integrity analysis of the pipe with theses reported dents is important for the safe operation. Strain analysis of the dented pipe is a way of fine assessment and ASME B31.8 has established the strain assessment code and its acceptable range. However, the method of strain assessment is rarely used due to the difficulty of strain calculation for a buried pipe. In this study, features of ILI data are investigated to elaborate the necessary of filtering analysis for strain analysis of the dent with ILI data. Then typical filtering methods are used to smooth the ILI data, and strain analysis are carried out with the smoothed data to study the practicability of strain assessment. Profile and strain of a dent in D813 pipe were obtained by Finite Element Method (FEM). Then different filtering methods were used to smooth the simulated ILI data of the dent which were selected from FEM profile. Strain of the dent were also calculated by smoothed data with the latest ASME B31.8 code, and compared with it from FEM at last to prove the feasibility and validity of the filtering methods with ASME B31.8 code.

The bearing performance of composite foundation improved by flexible piles was influenced by changes of cushion’s modulus, the modulus ratio between soil on bottom of pile and soil surrounded pile, which was analyzed by the finite element method. Results showed that: 1.For single pile, by increasing of cushion’s modulus, the bearing performance nearby the top of flexible pile increased apparently, and the common tendency of settlement of pile and soil surrounded piles was affected negatively. For multi-piles, the increasing of cushion’s modulus resulted in the increasing of bearing performance and the common tendency of settlement of piles and soil surrounded piles was affected positively. 2.The change of modulus ratio between soil surrounded piles and soil on bottom of piles resulted positively in the change of frictional resistance and end-bearing performance nearby the bottom of single pile and reduced the settlement of composite foundation. But the multi-pile borne absolutely all loading due to the increasing of modulus ratio, and both of piles and soil surrounded piles had the same tendency of settlement.

The main stages of the strength calculation of a steel gas pipeline attached to the facade of a building, to determine the values of reference reactions, as well as the axial stroke of bellows compensators for the Roof gas boiler project are considered. The calculation was made on the basis of the finite element method by specialists in the Moscow city Center. Based on the results of the strength calculation, it was concluded that the strength and reliability of the considered section of the gas pipeline is ensured.

A model is presented taking into account off line-of-action, non-linear wheel stiffness by using the finite element method, and elasticity coupling between the gear teeth. The contact points are determined by searching the common normal using the undeformed, but otherwise true theoretical, tooth shapes where the teeth have a tip rounding to prevent contact singularity in off line-of-action points. A comparative study is included, which shows the important influence of the elastic coupling and off line-of-action.
