A new species viz. Cryptognathus karabagiensis sp. nov., collected from soil and litter under Spartium junceum (Fabaceae), Cedrus libani (Pinaceae), Vitis vinifera (Vitaceae) and Pistacia terebinthus (Anacardiaceae) in Afyonkarahisar, Manisa and Muğla provinces (the Aegaen region of Turkey), is described and illustrated based on adult females. Also, an updated key to all known species of the genus Cryptognathus is presented.

A new species, Terminalichus simplex sp. nov., is described based on adult females, deutonymphs and protonymphs, collected on Terminalia catappa L. (Combretaceae) from Thailand. The relationship of Terminalichus with other brevipalpine genera is discussed and a key to species of Terminalichus, Tenuilichus, Amblypalpus, Colopalpus and Priscapalpus is provided.

A new species, Stigmocheylus persicus sp. nov. (Trombidiformes: Prostigmata: Stigmocheylidae) is described based on adult females from Noor, Mazandaran province, northern Iran. The new species can be distinguished from other species by the following features: non-segmented peritremes; absence of setae c3; presence of setae g2; coxa II with four setae; genu I with nine setae; tarsi I–IV with 24(+2ω)–11(+1ω)-11-10 setae. This finding presents the first new species of the family Stigmocheylidae Berlese, 1910 from Asia. Additionally, an identification key to known species of Stigmocheylus is updated.

A new species of Weiseronyssus (Mesostigmata: Diplogyniidae) is described from adult females and males taken from Oryctes nasicornis (L.) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae) in northern Iran. The genus was previously known from a single species associated with an undetermined dynastine scarab from southern China. The generic diagnosis is updated and a key to the genera of Diplogyniidae is presented.

A new species of mealybug from Chile, Pseudococcus meridionalis Prado sp. n., is described and illustrated based on the morphological and molecular characterization of adult females. This species belongs to the “Pseudococcus maritimus” complex and displays a wide host plant range, including Japanese pear, persimmon, pomegranate, pear and grape.

A new species, Paraedes jambulingami, is described from Assam, northeastern India. The adult male and female are described in detail and an illustration of the male is provided. This species is easily distinguished from all known species of the genus Paraedes by the presence of broad silvery or golden scales on the paratergite and the outer arm of the basal mesal lobe of the male genitalia bearing a long, flattened blade-like seta. Dichotomous keys are provided for the identification of the adult females and males of the five species of the genus that are known to occur in India.

The present work provides descriptions of a new species of mite, Centrouropoda bahariyaensis n. sp. (Uropodidae), based on the adult female and male collected from the red palm weevil, Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Oliver) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) and its habitat at El-Bawiti, Bahariya Oasis, Egypt. Complete descriptions of the immature stages are included. Keys to the known species of genus Centrouropoda Berlese based on adult females, adult males and deutonymphs are provided.

A new species, Ophionyssus schreibericolus Moraza sp. nov. is described, based on adult females, males and protonymphal instars. Ophionyssus schreibericolus parasitizes Lacerta schreiberi, a lizard endemic to the Iberian Peninsula, and known to have persisted in refugial populations throughout the Pleistocene. A key to adult females, males and protonymphs of the genus Ophionyssus is presented. Ophionyssus viperae Miron & Ivan 2003 is synonymised with O. natricis (new synonymy).

The adult females of four new mealybug species are described from Greenland (Atrococcus groenlandensis, Chorizococcus multiporus and Trionymus bocheri and T. elymus) and a key is provided for all mealybug species known from Greenland; a new species of Coccidae is also described from Greenland (Pulvinaria glacialis). In addition, the adult females of the mealybug Atrococcus altoarcticus Richards and the soft scale Pulvinaria ellesmerensis Richards from arctic Canada are redescribed and compared with their close relatives from Greenland.
