The paper offers a review of the international principles and approaches to the conformity assessment of hotels quality and safety criteria. Given the lack of common approaches in the world practice to the accommodation establishments categorization, in particular, lack of stanard assessment system, it is suggested to build a unified hotels conformity assessment system (categorization) based on the 21 HOTREC principles, Hotelstars Union criteria and the requirements of The Global Hotel Security Standard. This approach will allow consumers obtain valid and transparent information about hotels all over the world. The recommendations provided  will contribute to enhancing the quality and safety of hotel services as well as to boosting the flow of foreign tourists.

Since January 01, 2016, new legislation in the field of metrology came in force in Ukraine. There have been significant changes in the regulation of metrological activity in accordance with the new Law of Ukraine “On Metrology and Metrological Activity”, which is harmonized with European legislation, in the country. Thus, the new Law lacks such forms of metrological control as state acceptance tests and state control tests, as well as state metrological certification of measuring instruments. Instead of these types of metrological control the conformity assessment system of measuring instruments according to established requirements has been implemented. Therefore, this article considers new approaches of the conformity assessment system of measuring instruments according to established requirements and is a logical continuation of an article published in Metrology and Instruments journal (1 (69), 2018), which considered the basics of development and operating the conformity assessment system of measuring instruments. This article considers some issues related to conformity assessment procedures. Criteria for the selection of modules for the conformity assessment procedure and their description are defined. The existing approaches for selection of conformity assessment procedures of measuring instruments and the cooperation of manufacturers (suppliers) of measuring instruments with designated conformity assessment bodies on the market are given. The article offers practical interest for manufacturers of measuring instruments for the legal regulated sphere.

Resumo O trabalho discute a questão do risco no âmbito do Sistema Brasileiro de Avaliação da Conformidade. Valendo-se da evolução do conceito de risco ao longo da história, estuda o processo de análise de risco nas decisões relacionadas à regulamentação de produtos e qual o embasamento que esta análise deve ter de modo a fugir de uma dedução meramente pautada em cálculos probabilísticos, para buscar uma racionalidade social que atenda plenamente aos anseios de todos os indivíduos. Para tanto, destaca a atuação do Inmetro como gerenciador de riscos, analisando as estratégias que usa para estimar os riscos.Palavras-chave gerenciamento de risco, avaliação da conformidade, racionalidade social, regulamentação, InmetroAbstract This paper discusses risk analysis in the Brazilian Conformity Assessment System.
