A high level of variation in microflora can be observed in profiles of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) from sourdoughs. Here, we present draft genome sequences of Lactobacillus reuteri E81, L. reuteri LR5A, L. rhamnosus LR2, L. plantarum PFC-311, and the novel Lactobacillus sp.

Certain bacterial species, including some fructophilic lactic acid bacteria, are known to naturally produce the sugar alcohol mannitol. Here, we announce the draft genome sequences of the mannitol-producing organisms Fructobacillus fructosus DPC 7238 and Leuconostoc mesenteroides DPC 7261, which were isolated from fructose-rich honeybee-resident flowers found on an Irish farm.

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) participate in fermentation processes and have probiotic potential. The genomes of three LAB strains, Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus cek-R1, Lacticaseibacillus paracasei subsp. paracasei cek-R2, and Lentilactobacillus otakiensis cek-R3, isolated from a beetroot product, were characterized. The results contribute to our understanding of the beneficial properties of LAB.

ABSTRACT Tetragenococcus muriaticus strains 3MR10-3 and PMC-11-5 are homofermentative halophilic lactic acid bacteria isolated from Thai fish sauce during natural fermentation. Their draft genomes were sequenced. Our interest in these organisms is related to their impact on fish sauce flavor and their high osmotolerance.

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) and serve as probiotic bacteria when consumed in adequate amounts. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Lactobacillus reuteri Byun-re-01, isolated from mouse small intestine.

ABSTRACT Lactic acid bacteria are widely distributed in the termite gut. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Lactococcus sp. strain NtB2, which was isolated from the gut of a wood-feeding higher termite.

Leuconostoc carnosum is a lactic acid bacterium that preferentially colonizes meat. In this work, we present the draft genome sequences of 12 Leuconostoc carnosum strains isolated from modified-atmosphere-packaged cooked ham and fresh sausages. Three strains harbor bacteriocin genes.

Lactobacillus reuteri is a bacterial gut symbiont found in many vertebrate animals. The genetic heterogeneity of L. reuteri is likely to contribute to differences in ecological performance within a host. Here, we report the draft genome sequences of 12 L. reuteri strains of rodent origin.

ABSTRACT The recently described species Myxacorys almedinensis and two other cyanobacteria were isolated from the limestone walls of the Old Cathedral of Coimbra, Portugal (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The high-quality genome sequences presented here will be essential for characterization purposes and description of the novel taxa.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequences of 15 ciprofloxacin-resistant Salmonella enterica strains with resistance to multiple other antibiotics, including aminoglycosides, β-lactams, sulfonamides, tetracycline, and trimethoprim, isolated from different imported foods. Three strains (NCTR75, NCTR281, and NCTR350) showed a high level of ciprofloxacin resistance compared to that of the other isolates. The whole-genome sequencing data provide a better understanding of the antibiotic resistance mechanisms and virulence properties of these isolates.

Here, we report draft genome sequences of the halotolerant and allodiploid strains Zygosaccharomyces rouxii ATCC 42981 and Zygosaccharomyces sapae ABT301T. Illumina and Oxford Nanopore MinION sequencing revealed genome sizes of 20.9 and 24.7 Mb, respectively.
