ABSTRACT Pseudoalteromonas piscicida strain DE2-B is a halophilic bacterium which has broad inhibitory activity toward vibrios and other human and fish pathogens. We report the first closed genome sequence for this species, which consists of two chromosomes (4,128,210 and 1,188,838 bp). Annotation revealed multiple genes encoding proteases with potential antibacterial properties.

The complete genome sequence of Campylobacter jejuni YH003, isolated from retail chicken, was determined using PacBio and Illumina technologies. The assembled genome is 1,743,985 bp (G+C content of 30.3%). Genome annotation revealed several genes encoding virulence and antibiotic resistance factors, including a type VI secretion system, cytolethal distending toxins, and a multidrug efflux system.

ABSTRACT Members of the genus Actinomyces are strongly associated with human diseases. We present here the complete genome sequence of Actinomyces hongkongensis HKU8T, which consists of one circular chromosome. The strain characteristically contains various genes encoding for enzymes involved in arylamidase utilization.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic pathogen associated with hospital-acquired infections. This report describes the complete genome of the K. pneumoniae myophage Mulock, which appears to be a temperate myophage distantly related to other Klebsiella myophages in morphogenesis genes and is partially syntenic with the canonical Escherichia phage lambda in genes encoding lambda-like functions.

ABSTRACT Paludibaculum fermentans P105T is a facultatively anaerobic heterotroph of the phylum Acidobacteria which is capable of dissimilatory Fe(III) reduction. This bacterium is a common inhabitant of wetlands and groundwater bodies. The finished genome of strain P105T is 9.53 Mb in size and contains multiple genes coding for membrane-bound multiheme cytochromes.

We report here the complete genome sequence of Klebsiella pneumoniae CCRI-22199, isolated from a patient from India treated in Quebec City, Canada. Genes encoding beta-lactamases NDM-1 and CTX-M-15 were identified on two distinct plasmids. While the chromosome is similar to that of strain BAA-2146, CCRI-22199 provides a further example of rearrangements in plasmids.
