Arcobacter skirrowii is a species of veterinary importance, originally recovered from the feces, aborted fetuses, and preputial fluids of livestock. We present here the whole-genome sequence of the A. skirrowii type strain LMG 6621 (= 449/80T = CCUG 10374T), isolated in the United Kingdom from a lamb diarrheal fecal sample.

Rickettsia parkeri is classified as a member of the alphaproteobacterial microorganisms, genus Rickettsia. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Rickettsia parkeri strain Atlantic Rainforest, which was isolated from an Amblyomma ovale tick collected in the municipality of Necoclí, Colombia.

ABSTRACTThis work describes a whole-genome sequence ofStreptococcus agalactiaestrain GD201008-001, a pathogen causing meningoencephalitis in cultural tilapia in China. The genome sequence provides opportunities to understand the piscine GBS pathogenicity and its genetic basis associated with host tropism.

In this work, we report the complete genome sequence of aCorynebacterium pseudotuberculosisPAT10 isolate, collected from a lung abscess in an Argentine sheep in Patagonia, whose pathogen also required an investigation of its pathogenesis. Thus, the analysis of the genome sequence offers a means to better understanding of the molecular and genetic basis of virulence of this bacterium.

Paracoccus spp. are metabolically versatile alphaproteobacteria able to perform heterotrophic and chemoautotrophic growth. This study describes the whole-genome sequence of the Paracoccus pantotrophus type strain DSM 2944 (ATCC 35512, LMD 82.5, GB17). The genome sequence revealed the presence of a complete phaZ phaC phaP phaR gene cluster related to polyhydroxyalkanoate metabolism.

ABSTRACT In this study, we present the first complete genome sequence of Lactobacillus rennini ACA-DC 565, a strain isolated from a traditional Greek overripened Kopanisti cheese called Mana. Although the species has been associated with cheese spoilage, the strain ACA-DC 565 may contribute to the intense organoleptic characteristics of Mana cheese.

We report here the whole-genome sequence of a Chlamydia avium isolate recovered from a feral pigeon in 1999 in Italy. Only one complete genome of a C. avium strain has been published so far. Future comparative analyses could provide valuable insights on the genomic evolution of the pathogen.

ABSTRACT Pseudotuberculosis caused by infection of Photobacterium damselae subsp. piscicida has caused serious economic damages to aquaculture farms worldwide. Here, the whole-genome sequence of P. damselae subsp. piscicida strain OT-51443, isolated in Japan, was determined and suggests that this genome consists of two chromosomes and five plasmids.
