Carbapenemase-producing Klebsiella pneumoniae is an important opportunistic pathogen due to its drug resistance. This study reports on the isolation and characterization of a podophage, named Pylas, infecting this bacterium. The complete genome of phage Pylas is described, and it is distantly related to the well-studied phage N4.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a commonly antibiotic-resistant human pathogen. This report describes the complete genome sequence and important features of Sin4, a siphophage infecting carbapenemase-producing K. pneumoniae. By its genome size, predicted packaging mechanism, protein similarity, and classification given to its closest relatives, Sin4 was determined to be a T1-like phage.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia is an emerging opportunistic human pathogen. In this report, we describe the isolation and genomic annotation of the S. maltophilia-infecting bacteriophage Mendera. A myophage of 159,961 base pairs, Mendera is T4-like and related most closely to Stenotrophomonas phage IME-SM1.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative bacterium that is a major cause of nosocomial infections worldwide. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of TK421, a clinical bacteremia isolate containing a hypervirulence plasmid carrying tra-associated conjugation machinery genes. Emergence of conjugative hypervirulence plasmids could portend rapid dissemination of hypervirulence among multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae strains.

May is a newly isolated myophage that infects multidrug-resistant strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae, a pathogen that is associated with antibiotic-resistant infections in humans. The genome of May has been shown to be similar to that of phage Vi01.

Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Gordonia terrae 3612, also known by the strain designations ATCC 25594, NRRL B-16283, and NBRC 100016. The genome sequence reveals it to be free of prophage and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPRs), and it is an effective host for the isolation and characterization of Gordonia bacteriophages.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative pathogen that has become increasingly antibiotic resistant. Phage therapy is potentially a useful approach to control this pathogen. Here, we present the genome sequence of the phiKMV-like K. pneumoniae podophage Pone.

Acinetobacter nosocomialis is an opportunistic human pathogen that is part of the Acinetobacter calcoaceticus/Acinetobacter baumannii (ACB) complex. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Acinetobacter nosocomialis strain M2.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen and a leading cause of antibiotic-resistant nosocomial infections. The genome sequence of siphophage Skenny, which infects K. pneumoniae, is described here. Skenny encodes 78 genes and is closely related to Klebsiella phages KPN N141 and MezzoGao, which are T1-like phages.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic pathogen associated with hospital-acquired infections. This report describes the complete genome of the K. pneumoniae myophage Mulock, which appears to be a temperate myophage distantly related to other Klebsiella myophages in morphogenesis genes and is partially syntenic with the canonical Escherichia phage lambda in genes encoding lambda-like functions.
