Caballeronia sp. strain NK8 grows on 3-chlorobenzoate and shows chemotaxis toward 3-chlorobenzoate and its degradation products, such as chlorocatechols. Complete genome sequencing revealed a 9.2-Mb genome consisting of three chromosomes and four plasmids. The genes for degradation of chlorobenzoate and chlorocatechols were located on plasmids pNK81 and pNK84, respectively.

Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Mycoplasma synoviae HN01, a virulent epidemic strain isolated from a sick chicken with synovitis in Henan Province, China. HN01 is the Asian source of an M. synoviae strain that is completely sequenced, genome annotated, and published with relevant data.

Elizabethkingia sp. strain 2-6 was collected from a water faucet in the intensive care unit of a medical center in Taiwan. The complete genome sequence and annotation are reported. Analysis of the genetic relatedness to the known Elizabethkingia genomes indicated that strain 2-6 may be a new genomospecies of Elizabethkingia.

ABSTRACT A virus that caused blisters and ulcers in pigs in China was detected to be a strain of Senecavirus A (SVA). Complete genome sequencing and analysis results showed that the isolate shares 93.8% to 99.1% identity with other isolates that have been reported, proving that a new isolate of SVA was found in China.

Thermus thermophilus strain HC11 was isolated from Mine Geyser in Japan, where type strain HB8 was isolated 50 years ago. In this article, the complete genome sequence of HC11 is presented. HC11 shares the highest average nucleotide identity with HB8 among known T. thermophilus genomes (93.1%) with no genetic rearrangements.

ABSTRACT Lactobacillus plantarum is a lactic acid bacterium (LAB) species commonly used as a probiotic. We have sequenced the genome of Lactobacillus plantarum JDM1, which is a Chinese commercial LAB with several probiotic functions, using a GS 20 system. We recommend that each commercial probiotic strain should undergo complete genome sequencing to ensure safety and stability.

ABSTRACT A thiocyanate-degrading bacterium, Thiohalobacter sp. strain COW1, was isolated from activated sludge treating coke oven wastewater, and the complete genome sequence was determined. COW1 contained a single circular chromosome (3.23 Mb; G+C content, 63.4%) in which 2,788 protein-coding genes, 39 tRNA genes, and 3 rRNA genes were identified.

ABSTRACTPseudomonas stutzeriAN10 (CCUG 29243) can be considered a model strain for aerobic naphthalene degradation. We report the complete genome sequence of this bacterium. Its 4.71-Mb chromosome provides insights into other biodegradative capabilities of strain AN10 (i.e., benzoate catabolism) and suggests a high number of horizontal gene transfer events.
