Phage Sepoy infects Salmonella enterica serovar Heidelberg, a Gram-negative bacterium that causes severe foodborne illnesses. Bacteriophages infecting this pathogen may be used as biocontrol agents for preventing Salmonella foodborne diseases. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of Sepoy, a T5-like siphophage.

Bacteriophages infecting Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar Enteritidis may be used as biocontrol agents in food products or animals for preventing foodborne diseases caused by this pathogen. The complete genome sequence of phage Seafire, a T5-like siphophage infecting S. Enteritidis, is described in this report.

Klebsiella pneumoniae is a Gram-negative bacterium that is a major cause of nosocomial infections worldwide. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of TK421, a clinical bacteremia isolate containing a hypervirulence plasmid carrying tra-associated conjugation machinery genes. Emergence of conjugative hypervirulence plasmids could portend rapid dissemination of hypervirulence among multidrug-resistant K. pneumoniae strains.

ABSTRACT Rhizobium japonicum is a Gram-negative bacterium of interest for research into nitrogen fixation in legumes. This article describes the isolation, sequencing, and annotation of R. japonicum podophage Pasto. While it shows no significant similarity to identified phages, genomic analysis indicates that Pasto may be temperate and is a novel T7-like podophage.

Escherichia coli is a Gram-negative bacterium often found in animal intestinal tracts. Here, we present the genome of the Guernseyvirinae-like E. coli 4s siphophage Snoke. The 44.4-kb genome contains 81 protein-coding genes, for which 33 functions were predicted. The capsid morphogenesis gene in Snoke contains a large intein.

ABSTRACT Burkholderia gladioli is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with cystic fibrosis infections. Here, we describe the genome sequence of B. gladioli phage Maja. Maja is most related to another Burkholderia phage, BcepF1, and may be a temperate phage, despite the absence of repressor or integrase homologs in its genome sequence.
