The associations and ecological conditions of the existence of modern diatoms of the North-West (Pridneprovsky), Prikerchensky and Eastern regions of the subtidal zone of the Black Sea are considered. Based on the unity of the composition of the Present and Sarmatian-Meotian diatom flora, an attempt has been made to model some of the ecological c situation of the Late Miocene Euxinian basin.

Two species of sessile ciliates from subclass Peritrichia, Vorticella pyriforme and Zoothamnium sinense, new for Black Sea, were found in the Kruglaya Bay (the Black Sea) on algae Cystoseira crinita and Cladophora sericea. The article provides a description, systematic position and data on the distribution of the collected species.

One adult specimen of small red scorpionfish Scorpaena notata Rafinesque, 1810 was found in the ichthyological collections of the National Museum of Natural History in Sofia, Bulgaria. The specimen has been caught on 12 May 1926 in Black Sea near the town of Burgas and labelled as Scorpaena porcus. This is the first finding of the species along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast and the oldest record in the Black Sea.

The first finding of the genus Greeffiella Cobb 1922 (Greeffiellinae, Desmoscolecidae) in the Black Sea is presented. Two mature females were collected in Northwestern Shelf of Crimea in strongly silted fine sand with detritus at a water depth of 56 m. Greeffiella sp. is described and illustrated. The absence of males in the collections does not allow the authors to present it as a new species for science or to identify it as one of the known species of the genus Greeffiella. Black sea specimen is distinguished from the other known species of the genus Greeffiella with the presence of 8 pairs of thicker specific setae along the body, the basis of which looks like a small lamina, but without hairs, which was previously described for G. pierri Schrage & Gerlach, 1975 and G. australis Schrage & Gerlach, 1975. The short esophagus at the base has two salivary glands and a cardia. Cardia has not been mentioned before for the known species of the genus Greeffiella.

Three species of commensal ciliates (Cothurnia maritima Ehrenberg, 1838 on oligochaete Tubificoides sp.; Paracineta livadiana (Mereschkowsky, 1881) and Corynophrya lyngbyi (Ehrenberg, 1834) on harpacticoid copepods Amphiascella subdebilis (Willey, 1935), Haloschizopera pontarchis Por, 1959, Cletodes tenuipes Scott, 1896 and Enhydrosoma longifurcatum Sars, 1909) were found in the Black Sea deep-water under hypoxic/anoxic conditions for the first time. Corynophrya lyngbyi is reported for the first time in the Black Sea.

The first finding of the polychaete Dinophilus gyrociliatus O. Schmidt, 1857 on the coast of Crimea is reported. The species occurred in 2015 in the waters of Sevastopol (Kruglaya Bay) at the depth of 3–5 m. This species is characterized by the absence of pigmentation, by the presence of one ciliary ring per body segment and by extreme sexual dimorphism. Reproduction of D. gyrociliatus were investigated in the laboratory. Females released cocoons containing from 3 to 10 eggs. Eggs development took 5 days at 18.0–19.5 ℃. The larvae of two types hatch from the cocoons: large females with a length of 500–600 μm and a width of 150–175 μm and small, rudimentarymales resembling trochophore with a diameter of about 100 μm.

Abstract The freshwater bryozoan Pectinatella magnifica (Leidy, 1851) was found for the first time in the Ukrainian part of the Danube Delta (Poludionniy arm, 45°25.00˝ N, 29°45.25˝ E) in 2005. Since then, it has increased in abundance. Th e greatest colony numbers occurred on both dead and living reed stems in the delta region 1.5-2.0 km upstream from the Black Sea.

Specimens from genus Caprella (Amphipoda, Caprellidae) were revealed in fouling of constructions of oyster sea farm near coastal zone of Sevastopol (Crimea, the Black Sea) in 2018. Morphologically specimens of this species are close to the species C. equilibra Say, 1818. Earlier specimens of this species were not found in the Black Sea. Stable population of this species (adult males, adult females, juvenile specimens) were investigated from 2018 till 2020. Morphology of adult males, adult females including microtrichs was investigated. Information on ecology of this species is present.
