Superflow-induced splitting in the Squashing Mode spectrum of superfluid 3 He – B , predicted about one decade ago, has been observed recently with the single-ended, frequency-modulated, cw-acoustic-impedance technique. The temperature, thermal gradient and magnetic field dependence have been studied.
