This paper retrieves soliton solutions to fiber Bragg ratings with dispersive reflectivity where cubic–quartic dispersive effects are considered as opposed to the usual chromatic dispersion. The auxiliary equation approach and an addendum to Kudryashov’s scheme display a complete spectrum of soliton forms to the model that is studied with Kerr effect.

Optical solitons with ber Bragg gratings and polynomial law of nonlinear refractive index are addressed in the paper. The auxiliary equation approach together with an addendum to Kudryashov's method identify soliton solutions to the model. Singular periodic solutions emerge from these integration schemes as a byproduct. Keywords: solitons; cubic-quartic; Bragg gratings.

This paper studies couplers in optical metamaterials that come with power law of nonlinear refractive index. The Kudryashov’s approach reveals bright, singular as well as bright-singular straddled optical soliton solutions. Both twin-core couplers and multiple-core couplers are studied.

We investigated optical nonlinear refraction (NLR) of C2H4Cl2 and C2H4Br2 using the [Formula: see text]-scan technique with 532[Formula: see text]nm 17 picosecond pulses delivered at 10[Formula: see text]Hz. We found that the latter shows larger positive Kerr nonlinear refractive index than the former, [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]cm2/W versus [Formula: see text][Formula: see text]cm2/W. According to our additional study on time-resolved Raman-induced Kerr effect, this observed trend is ascribed to stronger inter-molecular motions of diffusive reorientation and polarizability distortion in C2H4Br2 than in C2H4Cl2. This study helps to understand the nonlinear response of molecular motions to electric-field in great details which have not been well-defined previously.

This paper studies highly dispersive optical solitons, having Kerr law of refractive index, numerically. The adopted scheme is Laplace-Adomian decomposition method. Bright soliton solutions are displayed along with their respective error analysis.

This paper considers the non-linear Kudryashov's equation, that is an extension of the well-known dual-power law of refractive index and is analog to the generalized version of anti-cubic non-linearity. The model is considered in the presence of full non-linearity. The main objective of this paper is to extract soliton solutions of the proposed model. Three state-of-the-art integration schemes, namely modified auxiliary equation method, the sine-Gordon expansion method and the tanhcoth expansion method have been employed for obtaining the desired soliton solutions.
