The paper investigates fuzzy multi-attribute group decision-making (FMAGDM) problems. The important weights of the attributes and the ratings of the alternatives with respect to each attribute provided by multiple decision-makers are described by the linguistic variables expressed in triangular fuzzy numbers or trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. A hybrid fuzzy approach is proposed, which assesses each alternative in terms of distance measure calculated by a modified VIKOR method as well as similarity measure calculated by a modified gray relational analysis (GRA) method, to the positive ideal alternative and the negative ideal alternative. A new relative closeness coefficient is established to rank alternatives by aggregating the distance and the similarity measures. Two numerical examples for reverse logistics applications are presented to illustrate the proposed method.

Aiming at the mixed multiattribute group decision-making problem of interval Pythagorean fuzzy numbers, a weighted average (WA) operator model based on interval Pythagorean fuzzy sets is constructed. Furthermore, a decision-making method based on the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method with interval Pythagorean fuzzy numbers is proposed. First, based on the completely unknown weights of decision-makers and attributes, interval Pythagorean fuzzy numbers are applied to TOPSIS group decision-making. Second, the interval Pythagorean fuzzy number WA operator is used to synthesize the evaluation matrices of multiple decision-makers into a comprehensive evaluation matrix, and the relative closeness of each scheme is calculated based on the TOPSIS decision-making method. Finally, an example is given to illustrate the rationality and effectiveness of the proposed method.

The q-rung orthopair fuzzy number (q-ROFN) has been recently developed by Yager and has been widely applied in handling real-life decision-making problems. To enhance its usefulness in dealing with complex practical issues, this paper first proposes the new concept of q-rung orthopair trapezoidal fuzzy numbers (q-ROTrFNs) which is a new and useful extension of q-ROFNs. Then, we investigate the operation of q-ROTrFNs and develop a new ranking method for q-ROTrFNs. We also propose a new q-rung orthopair trapezoidal fuzzy Hamming distance measure. More important, we develop a useful q-rung orthopair trapezoidal fuzzy modified TODIM group decision-making method. In this method, a new q-rung orthopair trapezoidal fuzzy weighted aggregating (q-ROTrFWA) operator is developed to integrate individual decision matrices into the collective decision matrix, and a q-rung orthopair trapezoidal fuzzy distance measure-based compromise approach is proposed to determine the relative dominance degree of alternatives. It is worth to mention that the modified TODIM method not only expands the freedom of decision makers but also allows decision makers to choose the appropriate risk preference parameter. Finally, a case study on health management of hypertensive patients is conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the modified TODIM group decision-making method, and the developed method is further verified by comparison analysis with the existing methods and sensitive analysis of different parameters.

The aim of this article is to propose a multi-objective decision-making method for researching and solving multi-attribute heterogeneous group decision-making problems. This is in the case that the characters of the decision information and decision makers' preferences are heterogeneous, and the weight information is incomplete. In this method, the multi-objective decision-making model, which considers the alternatives decision relative closeness and the preference of heterogeneous degree of decision makers in the objective function, is put forward. In addition, this article uses the minimax method to derive the multi-objective decision-making model and obtain the attribute weights and decision makers weights, and then the optimal scheme is established. Finally, an illustrative example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.

<p>This paper presents an approach of fuzzy multicriteria group decision making in determining alternatives to solve the selection problem of the electrician  through  a competency test.   Fuzzy approach is used to determine the highest priority of alternative electrician who has knowledge and ability that best fits the given parameters. Linguistic variables are presented by triangular fuzzy numbers. They are used to represent a subjective assessment of the decision-makers so that uncertainty and imprecision in the selection process can be minimized. Fuzzy approach require transforming crisp data to fuzzy numbers. Output of the best alternatives is generated by ranking method. Ranking has been made base on eight criteria which make the evaluation basis of each alternative. Ranking of the results is determined using different value of optimism index (). The fuzzy multi criteria decision making (FMCDM) calculation is using the best alternative using three value of optimism index. The result of calculation shows that the same alternative reached from different index of optimism. This alternative is the highest priority of decision making process.</p>

Abstract In this paper we investigate the dynamic multi-attribute group decision making problems, in which all the attribute values are provided by multiple decision makers at different periods. In order to increase the level of overall satisfaction for the final decision and deal with uncertainty, the attribute values are enhanced with generalized interval-valued trapezoidal fuzzy numbers to cope with the vagueness and indeterminacy. We first define the Dynamic Generalized Interval-valued Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers Weighted Geometric Aggregation (DGITFNWGA) operator and give an approach to determine the weights of periods, using the probability density function of Gamma distribution, and then a dynamic multi-attribute group decision making method is developed. The method proposed employs the Generalized Interval-valued Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers Hybrid Geometric Aggregation (GITFNHGA) operator to aggregate all individual decision information into the collective attribute values corresponding to each alternative at the same time period, and then utilizes the DGITFNWGA operator to aggregate the collective attribute values at different periods into the overall attribute values corresponding to each alternative and obtains the alternatives ranking, by which the optimal alternative can be determined. Finally, an illustrative example is given to verify the approach developed.

AbstractThe linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy sets (LPFSs), which employ linguistic terms to express membership and non-membership degrees, can effectively deal with decision makers’ complicated evaluation values in the process of multiple attribute group decision-making (MAGDM). To improve the ability of LPFSs in depicting fuzzy information, this paper generalized LPFSs to cubic LPFSs (CLPFSs) and studied CLPFSs-based MAGDM method. First, the definition, operational rules, comparison method and distance measure of CLPFSs are investigated. The CLPFSs fully adsorb the advantages of LPFSs and cubic fuzzy sets and hence they are suitable and flexible to depict attribute values in fuzzy and complicated decision-making environments. Second, based on the extension of power Hamy mean operator in CLPFSs, the cubic linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy power average operator, the cubic linguistic Pythagorean fuzzy power Hamy mean operator as well as their weighted forms were introduced. These aggregation operators can effectively and comprehensively aggregate attribute values in MAGDM problems. Besides, some important properties of these operators were studied. Finally, we presented a new MAGDM method based on CLPFSs and their aggregation operators. Illustrative examples and comparative analysis are provided to show the effectiveness and advantages of our proposed decision-making method.

This paper extends the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) for solving multi-attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems under Atanassov intuitionistic fuzzy set (IFS) environments. In this methodology, weights of attributes and ratings of alternatives on attributes are extracted from fuzziness inherent in decision data and making process and described using Atanassov IFSs. An Euclidean distance measure is developed to calculate the differences between alternatives for each decision maker and an Atanassov IFS positive ideal solution (IFSPIS) as well as an Atanassov IFS negative ideal-solution (IFSNIS). Degrees of relative closeness to the Atanassov IFSPIS for all alternatives with respect to each decision maker in the group are calculated. Then all decision makers in the group may be regarded as “attributes” and a corresponding classical MADM problem is generated and hereby solved by the TOPSIS. The proposed methodology is validated and compared with other similar methods. A numerical example is examined to demonstrate the implementation process of the methodology proposed in this paper.
