In this paper, we study Riemannian submersions whose total manifolds admit a Ricci soliton. Here, we characterize any fiber of such a submersion is Ricci soliton or almost Ricci soliton. Indeed, we obtain necessary conditions for which the target manifold of Riemannian submersion is a Ricci soliton. Moreover, we study the harmonicity of Riemannian submersion from Ricci soliton and give a characterization for such a submersion to be harmonic.

A submersion from an almost contact Riemannian manifold to an almost Hermitian manifold, acting on the horizontal distribution by preserving both the metric and the structure, is, roughly speaking a contact-complex Riemannian submersion. This paper deals mainly with a contact-complex Riemannian submersion from an η-Ricci soliton; it studies when the base manifold is Einstein on one side and when the fibres are η-Einstein submanifolds on the other side. Some results concerning the potential are also obtained here.

Abstract We show that any triharmonic Riemannian submersion from a 3-dimensional space form into a surface is harmonic. This is an affirmative partial answer to the submersion version of the generalized Chen conjecture. Moreover, a non-existence theorem for f -biharmonic Riemannian submersions is also presented.

We study semi-invariant Riemannian submersions from a nearly Kaehler manifold to a Riemannian manifold. It is well known that the vertical distribution of a Riemannian submersion is always integrable therefore, we derive condition for the integrability of horizontal distribution of a semi-invariant Riemannian submersion and also investigate the geometry of the foliations. We discuss the existence and nonexistence of semi-invariant submersions such that the total manifold is a usual product manifold or a twisted product manifold. We establish necessary and sufficient conditions for a semi-invariant submersion to be a totally geodesic map. Finally, we study semi-invariant submersions with totally umbilical fibers.

The purpose of this paper is to study anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds such that characteristic vector field is vertical or horizontal vector field. We first show that any anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifold is not a Riemannian submersion with totally umbilical fiber. Then we introduce anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds with totally contact umbilical fibers. We investigate the totally contact geodesicity of fibers of such submersions. Moreover, under this condition, we investigate Ricci curvature of anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds.

We introduce anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from cosymplectic manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We survey main results of anti-invariant Riemannian submersions defined on cosymplectic manifolds. We investigate necessary and sufficient condition for an anti-invariant Riemannian submersion to be totally geodesic and harmonic. We give examples of anti-invariant submersions such that characteristic vector field ? is vertical or horizontal. Moreover we give decomposition theorems by using the existence of anti-invariant Riemannian submersions.

In an earlier article we obtain a sharp inequality for an arbitrary isometric immersion from a Riemannian manifold admitting a Riemannian submersion with totally geodesic fibres into a unit sphere. In this article we investigate the immersions which satisfy the equality case of the inequality. As a by-product, we discover a new characterisation of Cartan hypersurface in S4.

We introduce anti-invariant semi-Riemannian submersions from almost para-Hermitian manifolds onto semi-Riemannian manifolds. We give an example, investigate the geometry of foliations which are arisen from the definition of a semi-Riemannian submersion, and check the harmonicity of such submersions. We also obtain curvature relations between the base manifold and the total manifold.

We establish a link between a connection symmetry, called conformal collineation, and almost Ricci soliton (in particular Ricci soliton) in reducible Ricci symmetric semi-Riemannian manifolds. As a physical application, by investigating the kinematic and dynamic properties of almost Ricci soliton manifolds, we present a physical model of imperfect fluid spacetimes. This model gives a general relation between the physical quantities (u,μ,p,α,η,σij) of the matter tensor of the field equations and does not provide any exact solution. Therefore, we propose further study on finding exact solutions of our viscous fluid physical model for which it is required that the fluid velocity vector u be tilted. We also suggest two open problems.

We extend the notion of anti-invariant and Langrangian Riemannian submersion to the case when the total manifold is nearly Kaehler. We obtain the integrability conditions for the horizontal distribution while it is noted that the vertical distribution is always integrable. We also investigate the geometry of the foliations of the two distributions and obtain the necessary and sufficient condition for a Langrangian submersion to be totally geodesic. The decomposition theorems for the total manifold of the submersion are obtained.
