We investigate the Hawking effect on entangled fields. By considering a scalar field which is in a two-mode squeezed state from the point of view of freely falling (Kruskal) observers crossing the horizon of a Schwarzschild black hole, we study the degradation of quantum and classical correlations in the state from the perspective of physical (Schwarzschild) observers confined outside the horizon. Due to monogamy constraints on the entanglement distribution, we show that the lost bipartite entanglement is recovered as multipartite entanglement among modes inside and outside the horizon. In the limit of a small-mass black hole, no bipartite entanglement is detected outside the horizon, while the genuine multipartite entanglement interlinking the inner and outer regions grows infinitely.

We develop a protocol based on 2M pairwise-interacting qubits, which through the quantum Zeno effect controls the entanglement distribution of the system. We present two examples: the first is concerned with the well-known double Jaynes–Cummings model, and in the second we construct a generalization for 2M qubits coupled pairwise. This provides a way of data manipulation within a quantum register which allows the transfer of data between qubits without the physical movement of any of the qubits.

The entanglement in one-dimensional Anderson model is studied. The pairwise entanglement has a direct relation to the localization length and is reduced by disorder. Entanglement distribution displays the entanglement localization. The pairwise entanglements around localization center exhibit a maximum as the disorder strength increases. The dynamics of entanglement are also investigated.
