This paper focuses on the swing oscillation process of the synchronous generator rotors in a three-machine power system. With the help of bifurcation diagram, time history, phase portrait, Poincaré section, and frequency spectrum, the complex dynamical behaviors and their evolution process are detected clearly in this power system with varying perturbation related parameters and different system parameters. Furthermore, combining the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the chaotic motion, different paths leading to chaos coexisting in this system have been found. The Wolf method has been introduced to calculate the corresponding largest Lyapunov exponent, which is used to verify the occurrence of chaotic motion. These results obtained in this paper will contribute to a better understanding of nonlinear dynamic behaviors of synchronous generator rotors in a three-machine power system.

In the field of microgrids (MGs), steady-state power imbalances and frequency/voltage fluctuations in the transient state have been gaining prominence owing to the advancing distributed energy resources (DERs) connected to MGs via grid-connected inverters. Because a stable, safe power supply and demand must be maintained, accurate analyses of power system dynamics are crucial. However, the natural frequency components present in the dynamics make analyses complex. The nonlinearity and confidentiality of grid-connected inverters also hinder controllability. The MG considered in this study consisted of a synchronous generator (the main power source) and multiple grid-connected inverters with storage batteries and virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control. Although smart inverter controls such as VSG contribute to system stabilization, they induce system nonlinearity. Therefore, Koopman mode decomposition (KMD) was utilized in this study for consideration as a future method of data-driven analysis of the measured frequencies and voltages, and a frequency response analysis of the power system dynamics was performed. The Koopman operator is a linear operator on an infinite dimensional space, whereas the original dynamics is a nonlinear map on a finite state space. In other words, the proposed method can precisely analyze all the dynamics of the power system, which involve the complex nonlinearities caused by VSGs.

Abstract. In the paper, take full account of energy dissipation operating characteristics. Interlayer shear-frame structure for the analysis of the Wilson-Θmethod ELASTOPLASTIC schedule, the design of a nonlinear dynamic time history analysis procedure. On this basis, taking into account the restoring force characteristics of the energy dissipation system, the inflection point in the restoring force model treatment, to avoid a result of the calculation results of distortion due to the iterative error. A frame structure seismic response time history analysis results show that: the framework of the energy dissipation significantly lower than the seismic response of the common framework, and its role in the earthquake when more significant.

In this paper, a coupling nonlinear dynamic model of the drum and subgrade is established for the vibratory roller. The dynamic characteristics of the rigid drum of the vibratory roller in the process of vibratory compaction are comprehensively investigated by time history, phase diagram, frequency spectrum, Poincare map, and bifurcation diagram. During the compaction process, the stiffness of the subgrade increases and the motion of the rigid drum of the vibratory roller changes from a single period to multiple periods and finally enters chaos by the way of period doubling. Moreover, the roller parameters also significantly affect the dynamic characteristics of the rigid drum and the compaction effect of the subgrade. Based on detailed numerical results, a parameter adjustment strategy about the roller frequency and nominal amplitude is proposed, which can avoid the “bouncing” of the drum during compaction and improve the compaction efficiency.
