Computer simulation is a significant technology on making great scenes of crowd in the film industry. However, current animation making process of crowd motion requires large manual operations which are time-consuming and inconvenient. To solve the above problem, this paper presents an editing method on the basis of mesh deformation that can rapidly and intuitively edit crowd movement trajectories from the perspective of time and space. The method is applied to directly generate and adjust the crowd movement as well as avoid the crash between crowd and obstacles. As for collisions within the crowd that come along with path modification problem, a time-based solution is put forward to avoid this situation by retaining relative positions of individuals. Moreover, an experiment based on a real venue was performed and the result indicates that the proposed method can not only simplify the editing operations but also improve the efficiency of crowd motion editing.

This paper proposes a method for salient crowd motion detection based on direction entropy and a repulsive force network. This work focuses on how to effectively detect salient regions in crowd movement through calculating the crowd vector field and constructing the weighted network using the repulsive force. The interaction force between two particles calculated by the repulsive force formula is used to determine the relationship between these two particles. The network node strength is used as a feature parameter to construct a two-dimensional feature matrix. Furthermore, the entropy of the velocity vector direction is calculated to describe the instability of the crowd movement. Finally, the feature matrix of the repulsive force network and direction entropy are integrated together to detect the salient crowd motion. Experimental results and comparison show that the proposed method can efficiently detect the salient crowd motion.

The term “gel”, in the jargon of the plastics film industry, may refer to any inclusion that produces a visible artifact in a polymeric film. Although they can occur in any plastic product, gels are a principle concern in films where they detract from the cosmetic appearance of the product and may compromise its mechanical strength by acting as local stress concentrators. Many film gels are small spheres or ellipsoids less than one millimeter in diameter whereas other gels are fusiform-shaped and may reach several centimeters in length. The actual composition of gel inclusions may vary from miscellaneous inorganics (i.e. glass and mineral particles) and processing additives to heavily oxidized, charred or crosslinked polymer. The most commonly observed gels contain polymer differing from the bulk of the sample in its melt viscosity, density or molecular weight.Polymeric gels are a special concern in polyethylene films. Over the years and with the examination of a variety of these samples three predominant polymeric species have been observed: density gels which have different crystallinity than the film; melt-index gels in which the molecular weight is different than the film and crosslinked gels which are comprised of crosslinked polyethylene.

Induced spinodal decomposition under electron irradiation in a Ni-Au alloy has been investigated with respect to its basic mechanism and confirmed to be caused by the relaxation of coherent strain associated with modulated structure. Modulation of white-dots on structure images of modulated structure due to high-resolution electron microscopy is reduced with irradiation. In this paper the atom arrangement of the modulated structure is confirmed with computer simulation on the structure images, and the relaxation of the coherent strain is concluded to be due to the reduction of phase-modulation.Structure images of three-dimensional modulated structure along <100> were taken with the JEM-4000EX high-resolution electron microscope at the HVEM Laboratory, Kyushu University. The transmitted beam and four 200 reflections with their satellites from the modulated structure in an fee Ni-30.0at%Au alloy under illumination of 400keV electrons were used for the structure images under a condition of the spherical aberration constant of the objective lens, Cs = 1mm, the divergence of the beam, α = 3 × 10-4 rad, underfocus, Δf ≃ -50nm and specimen thickness, t ≃ 15nm. The CIHRTEM code was used for the simulation of the structure image.
