The number of patients dialyzed for ESKD exceeds 500,000 in the United States and more than 2.6 million people worldwide, with the expectation that the worldwide number will double by 2030. The human cost of health and societal financial cost of ESKD is substantial. Dialytic therapy is associated with an unacceptably high morbidity and mortality rate and poor quality of life. Although innovation in many areas of science has been transformative, there has been little innovation in dialysis or alternatives for kidney replacement therapy (KRT) since its introduction approximately 70 years ago. Advances in kidney biology, stem cells and kidney cell differentiation protocols, biomaterials, sensors, nano/microtechnology, sorbents and engineering, and interdisciplinary approaches and collaborations can lead to disruptive innovation. The Kidney Health Initiative, a public–private partnership between the American Society of Nephrology and the US Food and Drug Administration, has convened a multidisciplinary group to create a technology roadmap for innovative approaches to KRT to address patients’ needs. The Roadmap is a living document. It identifies the design criteria that must be considered to replace the myriad functions of the kidney, as well as scientific, technical, regulatory, and payor milestones required to commercialize and provide patient access to KRT alternatives. Various embodiments of potential solutions are discussed, but the Roadmap is agnostic to any particular solution set. System enablers are identified, including vascular access, biomaterial development, biologic and immunologic modulation, function, and safety monitoring. Important Roadmap supporting activities include regulatory alignment and innovative financial incentives and payment pathways. The Roadmap provides estimated timelines for replacement of specific kidney functions so that approaches can be conceptualized in ways that are actionable and attract talented innovators from multiple disciplines. The Roadmap has been used to guide the selection of KidneyX prizes for innovation in KRT.

Printing system of college educational administration has been managed by artificial, which result in low efficiency and high human cost. So we build a system by docking the software and hardware system of background database based on IC card to realize self-service printing for teachers and students of college, which provide a high-efficiency, convenient and humanized service mode, and enhane the economical sense of teachers and students for creating a green campus.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to investigate the multi-skilled workers assignment problem in complex assembly systems such as aircraft assembly lines. An adaptive binary particle swarm optimization (A-BPSO) algorithm is proposed, which is used to balance the workload of both assembly stations and processes and to minimize the human cost. Design/methodology/approach – Firstly, a cycle time model considering the cooperation of multi-skilled workers is constructed. This model provides a quantitative description of the relationship between the cycle time and multi-skilled workers by means of revising the standard learning curve with the “Partition-And-Accumulate” method. Then, to improve the accuracy and stability of the current heuristic algorithms, an A-BPSO algorithm that suits for the discrete optimization problems is proposed to assign multi-skilled workers to assembly stations and processes based on modified sigmoid limiting function. Findings – The proposed method has been successfully applied to a practical case, and the result justifies its advantage as well as adaptability to both theory and engineering application. Originality/value – A novel cycle time model considering cooperation of multi-skilled workers is constructed so that the calculation results of cycle time are more accurate and closer to reality. An A-BPSO algorithm is proposed to improve the stability and convergence in dealing with the problems with higher dimensional search space. This research can be used by the project managers and dispatchers on assembly field.

In the age of knowledge economy, human resource is among the most important resources for enterprises, in that it forms the unique value of human resources which plays an indispensable role in the production and operating activities. Well managed human resources can effectively promote efficiency and thus create more social values. Therefore, it has aroused wide attention in academia. The thesis first establish the human capital value model and the human cost value model, based on which the thesis established the basic framework of enterprise human capital network. Then, simulation calculation from three aspects of human resource network were carried out with the cellular automation model. Firstly, we simulated the dynamic process of the change of personnel and got the evaluation model of the human cost in the future two years of a company, which can provide reference for company cost control. Secondly, the simulation mainly focused on checking whether under high staff churn rate, a company can still maintain certain number of employees. Thirdly, we simulated the healthy status of the human resource network under certain situations. Finally, We concluded that higher staff churn rate can lead to higher vacancy rate, which will lower the efficiency of companies .The thesis also explored with the model sensitivity analysis the benefit effect over human resource network by increasing recruits, indicating that increasing recruits can decrease the vacancy rate and improve the health status of the human capital network and based on the reality, we put forward the improvement direction of the model in indicator system aspect.
