Standleya glomerulata, a new species and a first record for the semiarid region of Bahia, Brazil, is described and illustrated. It differs from all other known species of the genus by its prostrate decumbent and reptant habit, glomerulate sessile inflorescences, and a calyx with two unequal lobes. S. prostrata has a similar habit, but can be distinguished by the pedunculate inflorescences and a calyx with four equal lobes. The new species is known from only a few localities in two protected areas and must therefore be considered threatened.

Zatypota albicoxa (Walker) is newly recorded from Mt. Merapi, Java Is., Indonesia. This is the first record of Z. albicoxa from this part of the Oriental region and from the Southern Hemisphere, and the first record of the genus Zatypota from Southeast Asia. The Indonesian population of Z. albicoxa attacks a theridiid spider of the genus Parasteatoda, as do populations of Z. albicoxa in other regions. The spider is a new species, and is described under the name of Parasteatoda merapiensis.

A new species of the serpulid genus Metavermilia Bush, 1905 and a new record of the genus Omphalopomopsis Saint-Joseph, 1894 are described from deep-sea lava rocks collected from 2,013 m at Cross Seamount, southwest of the Hawaiiarchipelago. Metavermilia zibrowii sp. nov., differs from its congeners mostly by the presence of a simple and concaveoperculum, extent of the thoracic membrane and tube morphology. Omphalopomopsis langerhansii (Marenzeller, 1885)is the type species of the genus and it is only known through its type specimen. This species is characterized by a simpleoperculum with a shallow convex calcareous endplate, cylindrical peduncle, presence of Apomatus chaetae and high num-ber of teeth in the thoracic uncini. This is the first record of this species outside the type locality and both genera are newly recorded for the Hawaiian Islands.

A new species of the primarily Australasian genus Eupines King, 1866, E. crinita Li, Nomura & Yin, sp. nov., is described from China and Japan, which is also the first record of the genus from the former country. Moreover, a new distributional record of E. sphaerica (Motschulsky, 1851) from China is provided.

A new species and three new records of oribatid mites collected from soil/litter samples of Malappuram Dt. of Kerala, South India, are studied. Indoribates (Indoribates) irumbuzhiensis sp. nov. shares some morphological similarities with I. (I.) hauseri (Mahunka, 1997) and I.(I.) crassisetiger (Fukuyama & Aoki, 2000) described from Borneo and China respectively. However, the larger body size, smooth rostral setae, straight interlamellar setae, long and smooth notogastral setae, barbed/ciliate nature of genital setae, g4 and g5, distally pointed anal and adanal setae, and presence of basiventral tooth on tibia I and II keep its identity separate from the above two species. Identification key to all known species of subgenus Indoribates (Indoribates) is provided. The paper also include three new records of oribatid mites from India viz. Gibbicepheus (Gibbicepheus) kanekoi (Aoki 1958), Yoshiobodes (Yoshiobodes) camerunensis Fernández, Theron, Leiva & Tiedt.,2017 and Eupelops intermedius (Hammer, 1979), of which, Y. (Y) camerunensis is new record for the Oriental Region and first record of the genus from India.

The study of the Poduromorpha fauna of a sample from Paraná State, Brazil, and multiple samples from high altitude mountains of Southeast Brazil provided important data on Hypogastruridae, including a new record for Brazil ofCeratophysella engadinensis(Gisin 1949) and two new species belonging toXenyllaTullberg 1869,X. manuelaesp.n. andX. wandaesp.n. These last present a pair of remarkable creased cuticular structures on abdominal tergite IV, apparently unique among the genus. In addition, a new species of Pseudachorutinae,Cephalachorutes anneaesp.n., is the first Neotropical record ofCephalachorutesBedos & Deharveng 1991, corroborating its holotropical distribution. The set of characteristics displayed by this new species required the expansion of the genus diagnosis.

Two Brassicaceae novelties are reported from Iran. Erysimum hezarense (Erysimeae) is described and illustrated as a newly discovered species. It resembles E. subulatum, E. laxiflorum and E. iraqense but can be readily distinguished by the indumentum of stem, leaves and pedicels; bicolor petals; and number of flowers on the main inflorescence. It is also separated geographically being restricted to Hezar mts. (prov. Kerman, South Iran) where none of the related species occurs. Because of the very limited distribution and high risk of its habit destruction, inclusion of E. hezarense into IUCN Red List with a status vulnerable (VU) is proposed. Besides, Rhammatophyllum gaudanense (Euclidieae) is reported from NE Iran representing the first record of the genus for the country. Contrary, the previous record of R. gaudanense from Afghanistan is considered doubtful and not confirmed. Detailed morphological description, illustration and synonymy of R. gaudanense is provided along with the key differences from the closely related taxa. Distribution maps for both E. hezarense and R. gaudanense are given.

A new species, Gabrita erwini, sp. nov. in the tribe Gabritini is described and illustrated from Ecuador, representing the first record of the genus and tribe in northwestern South America which extends its distribution across the Neotropical region from eastern localities in the countries of Brazil, French Guiana and Guyana. Three new species of Sandersellus in the tribe Sandersellini are described and illustrated: S. bigladius, sp. nov. from Bolivia, S. digitatus, sp. nov. from Brazil and S. bilanceus, sp. nov. from Peru. Brazil is a new record for the genus and tribe and extends the distribution eastward from its formerly known western range in Peru, Bolivia and Panama. Taxonomy is reviewed, a revised key to known males and distribution of the known species of Gabrita and Sandersellus are provided.

A new sphyrapodid tanaidacean,Sphyrapus caribensissp. nov. is described and a new record ofKudinopasternakia siegiis reported for the Colombian Caribbean based on samples collected during cruises in 2014–2015. The new species appears to be most closely related to the northeast Atlantic species,Sphyrapus malleolus. Sphyrapus caribensiscan be distinguished fromSphyrapus malleolusby a combination of characters, including the maxillipedal basis without long distal seta, the number of setae on the distoventral margin of pereopods 1 and 2, and the number of plumose seta on the pleopod basis. A key for the separation ofSphyrapusspecies is presented.

A new labrid fish, Terelabrus zonalis sp. nov., the fourth species of the genus, is described on the basis of two specimens collected from the Philippines. The new species is characterized by 44 longitudinal series scale rows, 42 pored lateral-line scales, 11–12 gill rakers (including rudiments), the main supratemporal sensory canal with 8 branches posteriorly, the area bounded by the main supratemporal and postotic sensory canals (dorsal view) with 3 scale rows, the least distance between the orbit anteroventral margin and interopercle 7.0% of standard length and 18 faint silver vertical bands on the body in preserved specimens. An underwater photograph of T. dewapyle is reported as the first record of the species from the Philippines. A key to species of Terelabrus is provided.
