The species of Bambusana Anufriev, 1969 from China are studied, and two new species, B. fopingensis sp. nov. and B. multidentata sp. nov., are described as new. Both the genus and its type species, B. bambusae (Matsumura, 1914), are reported for the first time from China. The type and other material are deposited separately in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZCAS) and Entomological Museum of Northwest A&F University (EM), which are indicated under each species.

The small genus Spininola was recently erected by László, Ronkay & Witt (2010) with the type species Nola loxoscia Hampson, 1900. They tabulated six species in the genus, S. loxoscia (Hampson, 1900), S. vesiculalis (Eecke, 1926), S. trilinea (Marumo, 1923), S. denticulata (Moore, 1888), S. fuscibasalis (Hampson, 1896) and S. armata László, Ronkay & Witt, 2010 from Thailand. The genus is distributed in eastern Asia, from Nepal and Sri Lanka in the west, to Japan in the north and Sumatra in the south. In our surveys, two new species were found and are described herein, and S. loxoscia (Hampson, 1900) is recorded for the first time from China (Fig. 1).

Paratachycines was proposed by Storozhenko in 1990 with the type species, Paratachycines ussuriensis Storozhenko, 1990. Paratachycines includes 15 species belonging to 4 subgenera (Eades et al, 2007): Allotachycines, Hemitachycines, Orphanotettix and Paratachycines. In the present paper, two new species Paratachycines (Paratachycines) hebeiensis sp. nov.; Paratachycines (Hemitachycines) xiai sp. nov. are described. The recently described Paratachycines (Paratachycines) thailandensis Gorochov, 2002 maybe belong to the genus Eutachycines Storozhenko 1990. All specimens are deposited in the Shanghai Entomology Museum, the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

All types of Longchuanacris Zheng et Fu, 1989 are examined. Longchuanacris guangxiensis Zheng et Ren, 2007 is synonymized with Caryanda neoelegans Otte, D. 1995, and Longchuanacris bilobata Mao, Ren et Ou, 2007 is synonymized with L. macrofurcula Zheng et Fu, 1989; seventy three topotypes are designated for L. macrofurcula. Longchuanacris lobata Niu et Ou, sp. nov. and L. microfurcula Niu et Zheng, sp. nov. are described as new species. Six Longchuanacris species are keyed and their distributions are stated. These species are distributed in southwestern Yunnan, China. Type specimens are deposited in the Faculty of Conservation Biology, Southwest Forestry University (SWFU), Yunnan Province, China and in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China (IZCAS).

Two new species of the genus Melixanthus Suffrian, 1854 are described from China: M. menglaensis Duan, Wang & Zhou, sp. nov. from Yunnan (also in Vietnam, Tonkin) and M. similibimaculicollis Duan, Wang & Zhou, sp. nov. from Yunnan. Another species, M. rufiventris Pic, 1926, is reported for the first time in China. High-quality color images and line drawings of adult habitus, aedeagus, and other important structures are provided for all three species. The types of the new species are deposited in the collection of Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZ-CAS).

Three species of the leaf-mimicking Tettigoniidae, Leptoderes Serville, 1838 were reported in the southeast of Asia. Here, we redescribe the type species L. ornatipennis Serville, and describe two new species Leptoderes shuzhenae sp. nov. and L. dianensis sp. nov., respectively from Tibet and Yunnan, China. Leptoderes now comprises five species. Informative illustrations are provided. The distribution of the Leptoderes Serville species is discussed and mapped. The holotypes are deposited in Insect Collection of Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China (IZCAS).

This paper studies the taxonomy of the genus Xanthophius Motschulsky, 1860 (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae, Staphylininae, Xantholinini). Two new species are described from China: Xanthophius unicidentatus sp. n. from Yunnan, Zhejiang, Guangxi and Hainan, and X. gutianshanensis sp. n. from Zhejiang. The number of species of Xanthophius therefore increased to eight. The elaborate structures of the everted endophallus of X. filum (Kraatz, 1859) is described for the first time and illustrated with a color plate. A key to eight species and their geographical distribution map are provided. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZ-CAS).

The Chinese species of Cleopomiarus Pierce, 1919 (Curculionidae, Curculioninae, Mecinini) are revised. Six taxa are reported: two already know from China (C. distinctus (Boheman, 1845), C. vestitus (Roelofs, 1875)), two cited for the first time from this country (C. flavoscutellatus (Morimoto, 1959), C. graminis (Gyllenhal, 1813)), and two new to science (C. danfengensis Jiang & Caldara n. sp., C. nuerhachii Jiang & Caldara n. sp.). The following new synonymy is proposed: C. distinctus (Boheman, 1845) = Miarus longirostris mandschuricus Voss, 1952 n. syn. Diagnosis, description or redescription, comparative notes and distribution are reported for each species. Dorsal and lateral habitus, as well as details of rostra and genitalia are illustrated. Finally, a key to the species is provided. Type specimens are deposited in the National Zoological Museum of China in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, China.

AbstractTwo new species from northern China, Pissodes chenisp. nov. and Pissodes pilatsquamosussp. nov., are described from Pinus and Picea, respectively. Pissodes harcyniae (Herbst) is recorded from China and P. nitidus Roelofs is recorded from Russia for the first time. A key is provided to the eight Pissodes species known from China. A list of the 18 known Palearctic species with synonyms, host data, and distribution is also included. Type specimens for the two new species are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China.
