Six new species of Polana (Varpulana) are described and illustrated, all from Brazil: P. (V.) bahiensis sp. nov., state of Bahia; P. (V.) grossii sp. nov., states of Bahia and Minas Gerais; P. (V.) intricata sp. nov., state of Bahia, P. (V.) naja sp. nov., states of Bahia and Minas Gerais; P. (V.) sapitanduva sp. nov., states of Paraná and Rio de Janeiro and P. (V.) vulgaris sp. nov., state of Paraná. A key to 11 known species of P. (Varpulana) is presented. New records from several Brazilian states are added.

A new species of the freshwater amphipod Hyalella Smith, 1874 is described for the plateau of the Itatiaia National Park, located between the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil. This is the first Brazilian species of Hyalella found at more than 2,200 meters of altitude. The specimens were found in a small stream, buried under rocks, in the higher area of the Park. The main morphological characteristics that differentiate the new species are the extreme reduction of the size of the uropod 3, absence of apical setae on telson, absence of comb-scales on gnatopods 1 and 2, absence of curved seta on inner ramus of uropod 1 and sternal gills tubular on pereonites 3 to 7. The new species presents similarities with some cave species of the genus, apparently being troglophile and that is the process of adaptation to the hypogean habitat. The importance of creating new protected areas for the conservation of Hyalella in Brazil is discussed.

Two new species of Notomicrus Sharp, 1882 from Brazil are described and illustrated: N. meizon sp. nov. from the state of Amazonas and N. teramnus sp. nov. from the state of Minas Gerais. The new species can be distinguished from all other members of Notomicrus mainly by their aedeagal features, especially for N. teramnus sp. nov., with a unique aedeagal structure. In addition, new records from Brazil are provided for N. brevicornis Sharp, 1882 (states of Amazonas and Pará), N. gracilipes Sharp, 1882 (Amazonas and Rio de Janeiro), N. malkini Young, 1978 (Amazonas, Pará and Rio de Janeiro), and N. traili Sharp, 1882 (Amazonas, Goiás and Paraná).

Six new species of the genus Desmopachria Babington, 1841 are described and illustrated from Brazil: D. anauine sp. nov., D. carranca sp. nov., D. francischettii sp. nov., D. nigrasphera sp. nov., D. nigricoxa sp. nov. and D. yanomami sp. nov. Desmopachria varians is redescribed and illustrated from syntypes photos and material identified by Dr. Frank Young. New records for eight other species from Brazilian states are presented here: D. amyae Miller, 2001 has a new record from Minas Gerais State, D. grammosticta Braga & Ferreira‑Jr., 2015 have new records from Minas Gerais and São Paulo States, D. granoides Young, 1986 has a new record from Espirito Santo State, D. laevis Sharp, 1882 have new records from Espírito Santo and Parana States, D. leptophallica Braga & Ferreira‑Jr., 2014 has a new record from Paraná State, D. sioli Young, 1980 has a new record from Minas Gerais State, D. striola Sharp, 1887 have new records from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo States and D. volatidisca Miller, 2001 has a new record from Paraíba States and an unpublished record of D. challeti Miller, 2001 from Brazil.

Currently, 24 species are known for the spider genus Enna O. Pickard-Cambridge, from North, Central and South America, of which six are known from Brazil. In this study four new species are described and illustrated based on female specimens from the Southeastern and Southern Brazilian states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Paraná. Enna trivittata sp. n., E. segredo sp. n., E. meridionalis sp. n. and E. caparao sp. n. can be distinguished from all known species by the general shape of the epigynum. New records in Brazil are presented for E. braslandia Silva, Lise & Carico and E. redundans (Platnick).

AbstractA cladistic analysis of the Attacobiini spiders (Corinnidae, Corinninae) is made from 11 species in the tribe, plus two Corinninae outgroup species (Septentrinna yucatan and Falconina gracilis), scored for 70 characters. Attacobiini, Attacobius and a group composed by A. attarum Roewer, A. luederwaldti (Mello-Leitão) and A. nigripes (Mello-Leitão) are the best supported clades in the analysis. Six new Brazilian species are described: Attacobius blakei, A. tucurui and A. uiriri, from the state of Pará; A. lamellatus and A. kitae, from Tocantins and A. carranca, from Tocantins and Bahia. The known distribution ranges of A. attarum and A. luederwaldti are extended from Rio de Janeiro to Brasilia (Distrito Federal) and from São Paulo to Minas Gerais and Mato Grosso, respectively. A 10 percent KOH preparation of the male palp of A. carranca suggests that the Attacobiini tegular process is homologous to the median apophysis, which is putatively symplesiomorphic in Corinninae.

Five new Brazilian species of the spider genus Attacobius Mello-Leitão, 1925 are described: A. demiguise n. sp. (based on male and female) and A. carimbo n. sp. (male), both from State of Pará; A. thalitae n. sp. (male) from the State of Minas Gerais; A. lauricae n. sp. (male) from State of Tocantins; and A. tremembe n. sp. (female) from State of Piauí. The males of A. luederwaldti (Mello-Leitão, 1923) and A. verhaaghi Bonaldo & Brescovit, 1998, and the females of A. uiriri Bonaldo & Brescovit, 2005 and A. blakei Bonaldo & Brescovit, 2005, are described for the first time. Additionally, new records of A. attarum (Roewer, 1935), A. carranca Bonaldo & Brescovit, 2005, A. kitae Bonaldo & Brescovit, 2005 and A. tucurui Bonaldo & Brescovit, 2005 are given.

The spider genus Stemmops O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1894, currently comprises 22 described species. Spiders of this genus are mainly known from the Neotropical Region, but are poorly studied in Brazil. In this paper five new species of Brazilian Stemmops are described: Stemmops murici new species; Stemmops carauari new species; Stemmops carajas new species; Stemmops pains new species, and Stemmops guapiacu new species. Additionally, new records from Brazil are provided for Stemmops carius Marques & Buckup, 1996 from state of São Paulo; Stemmops belavista Marques & Buckup, 1996 from Mato Grosso do Sul; and Stemmops vicosa Levi, 1964 from Alagoas. The species Stemmops servus Levi, 1964 (known from Panama) is recorded for the first time in Brazil from states of Amazonas, Paraíba, Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro.

The genus Austrolimnius Carter & Zeck has its greatest known diversity in Oceania, but its fauna in the Americas is poorlyknown. In this paper, two new species—Austrolimnius uncatus sp. nov. and A. bocainensis sp. nov.—are described and illus-trated based on adult specimens collected at Serra da Bocaina National Park, São José do Barreiro Municipality, São PauloState, and Nova Friburgo Municipality, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. Austrolimnius uncatus sp. nov. is characterized by the longsetae on the mesotarsus, the medial expansion of the hind tibiae, and the hook-like shape of the male genitalia. Austrolimniusbocainensis sp. nov. can be recognized by the absence of setae on the mid-tarsus, the cylindrical hind tibiae, and the slightlycurved genitalia with few setae. A pictorial key for the Brazilian species of the genus is given. New records of Brazilian species of the genus are reported.

In this paper a new species of Cryptachaea Archer, 1946 based on males and females is described from Brazilian caves: Cryptachaea pilar Santanna & Rodrigues, new species from the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo. The females of Cryptachaea parana (Levi, 1963) and C. schneirlai (Levi, 1959) are described and illustrated for the first time. Cryptachaea uviana (Levi, 1963) is synonymized with C. migrans (Keyserling, 1884). The species Cryptachaea alacris (Keyserling, 1884), C. benivia Rodrigues & Poeta, 2015, C. parana (Levi, 1963) and C. schneirlai (Levi, 1959) are recorded for the first from Brazil; and C. migrans for the first time from Bolivia. Additionally, new records from Brazilian caves are provided for Cryptachaea parana, from the states of Tocantins, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo; C. schneirlai and C. alacris from the state of Pará; C. dea (Buckup & Marques, 2006) and C. rioensis (Levi, 1963) from Pará and Minas Gerais, C. jequirituba (Levi, 1963) from Minas Gerais and C. benivia from São Paulo.
