Anheteromeyenia Schröder, 1927 (Spongillidae) was erected to comprise species of Heteromeyenia Potts, 1881 without microscleres. Until now, only four species of Anheteromeyenia are known, three from the Neotropical Region (A. cheguevarai, A. ornata and A. vitrea) and A. argyrosperma from the Nearctic Region. In the present study, we describe a new species of Anheteromeyenia from the Neotropical Region, which differs from other congeners in having only one category of megascleres, exclusively smooth oxeas. An identification key to species of Anheteromeyenia and an emended diagnosis of the genus are provided.

A New Species

A new species of the chirostylid squat lobster genus Uroptychodes Baba, 2004, U. fuscilineatus, is described and illustrated on the basis of a single ovigerous female from the Uraga Channel, central Japan, at depth of 250 m. The new species appears most similar to U. spinimarginatus (Henderson, 1885) and U. yapensis Dong, Gan & Li, 2021 among the 13 known congeners, but is notable in the pereopod 2 not being definitely more slender than the pereopods 3 and 4 and the remarkably spinose pereopods 1–4. A possible association of the new species with crinoid is suggested. An updated identification key to species of Uroptychodes is presented.

Stenogiffardia bifurca sp. nov. is described from a series of specimens collected in the former Antananarivo, Fianarantsoa, and Toliara Provinces of Madagascar. This is the first record of the genus,Evans, 1977 (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) from Madagascar, which is now the third genus of the tribe Chiasmini known from the island. The distribution of,is analyzed and an identification key to species is given.,Evans, 1977 is removed from synonymy with,(Kirkaldy, 1906).

Spathipheromyia Bigot is a small group of predaceous muscids endemic of the Neotropical region. Currently, the genus includes 14 species of which only Spathipheromyia atra Malloch, 1934, S. magellani Malloch, 1934 and S. guttipennis (Thomson, 1869) are listed for Argentina. We present a new species Spathipheromyia goliat sp. nov. for Argentina and registered S. albiceps Malloch, 1934 for the first time for Argentina. Also we present a more detailed description of male and female terminalia of S. albiceps, S. atra, and S. guttipennis, notes on their habitat, new records, a key to species, and a discussion on structure of male terminalia.

The new sharpshooter species Sonesimia nessimiani is described from Bolivia based on specimens collected on sugar cane. An identification key to males and females of all known species of the genus is given. In addition to the external morphology, color pattern, and male genitalia, female genital structures are also described and illustrated. Notes comparing the new species with the remaining six Sonesimia species are provided.

The Neotropical scale insect genus Ripersiella Tinsley (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Rhizoecidae) was investigated, based on soil samples deposited at the Hungarian Natural History Museum. Description and illustration of a new species, Ripersiella incarum Kaydan & Szita sp. n., and an identification key and new additional locality records for the currently known Ripersiella species in the Neotropical region, are provided and discussed.

A New Species

A new species of the genusTurleaniaMcLaughlin, 1997,T. sinensissp. nov., is described and illustrated. This new species is morphologically similar toT. senticosa, but differs from that species in having nine pairs of quadriserial gills, and in having the ventromesial margin of the ischium of both chelipeds armed with large, prominent spines. This is the tenth species in this genus, and the first record of the genus from the China Sea. An identification key to species ofTurleaniais provided.

An identification key to the seven known Iranian species of the genus Coenosia Meigen, 1826 is given, including Coenosia persica Pont & Parchami-Araghi, sp. nov. as well as the newly recorded C. humilis Meigen, 1826, C. nigridigita Rondani, 1866 and C. testacea (Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830). Sparianthinae Simon, 1897 is a well-characterized subfamily of Sparassidae Bertkau, 1872, with members easily recognized and distinguished from the remaining sparassids by the trilobate membrane with small or inconspicuous median lobe, chelicerae with small retrolateral denticles and male palps bearing a spoon-shaped median apohysis, among others (Jäger 1998; Ramírez 2014). To date the subfamily includes 15 genera of which eight occur in the Neotropical region. Decaphora Franganillo, 1931, Defectrix Petrunkevitch, 1925, Neostasina Rheims & Alayón, 2016, Pseudosparianthis Simon, 1887, Sampaiosia Mello-Leitão, 1930, Sparianthis Simon, 1880 and Uaiuara Rheims, 2013 are exclusively Neotropical (World Spider Catalog 2017). Stasina Simon, 1877 is mostly Oriental, but includes species occurring in the Neotropical region, although their correct affiliation is considered doubtful (Rheims & Alayón, 2016).
