New taxa of oribatid mites from Korup National Park (Cameroon). The genus Pergalumna (Acari, Oribatida, Galumnidae), with description of three new species and a key to known species from the Ethiopian region

Three new species of oribatid mites of the genus Pergalumna (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from litter and soil in the Korup National Park (Cameroon). Pergalumna jenoi sp. nov. differs from P. margaritata Mahunka, 1989 and P. pseudomargaritata Mahunka, 1994 by the presence of simple dorsosejugal suture, dentate anterior margin of the ventral plate, distinct reticulate pattern on the pteromorphs and dense stria on the genital plates, the localization of setal alveoli la posterior to porose areas Aa, and the absence of a median pore. Pergalumna tuberclesejugalis sp. nov. differs from P. margaritata and P. pseudomargaritata by the larger body size, the localization of porose areas Aa closer to lm than la, and setal alveoli h3 close and lateral to A2, the presence of sejugal porose areas, and the absence of a median pore and stria on the genital plates. Pergalumna grebennikovi sp. nov. differs from P. bifissurata Hammer, 1972 by the larger body size, the presence of smooth bothridial setae, well-developed interlamellar setae, reticulate anterior margin of pteromorphs, comparatively long prodorsal median ridge and a median pore, and the localization of setal alveoli la and porose areas Aa. An identification key to the known species of the genus Pergalumna from the Ethiopian region is presented.

Three new species of oribatid mites of the family Galumnidae are described from soil and coniferous litter of Hogsback State Forest, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. Pilogalumna hogsbackensis sp. nov. differs from Pilogalumna tenuiclava and P. ornatula by the presence of elongate oval postanal porose area and narrowly unilaterally dilated bothridial head. Pergalumna amatholensis sp. nov. differs from Pergalumna distincta by the presence of smaller body size, rounded rostrum, unilaterally dilated bothridial head, one pair of notogastral porose areas Aa, and the localization of opisthonotal gland opening and lyrifissure im. Stictozetes ihaguensis sp. nov. differs from all species of the genus by presence of bothridial seta with narrowly dilated head and median pore in both genders. An identification key to known species of Stictozetes is presented.

This work includes taxonomic and faunistic data on galumnid mites (Oribatida, Galumnidae) belonging to the genera Galumna and Pergalumna collected from the Montagne d'Ambre National Park, North Madagascar. Two new species are described: Galumna sandormahunkai n. sp. differs from its closest species, Galumna sphagni by the larger body size, the presence of strongly protruding rostrum, lanceolate, pointed apically bothridial setae, the direction of lamellar lines, and the absence of median pore; Pergalumna janosbaloghi n. sp. differs from the most similar species, Pergalumna aegra, by the smaller body size and the presence of long lamellar setae and elongate, distinctly or slightly triangular porose areas Aa. Galumna granalata and Pergalumna amamiensis are recorded in the Ethiopian region for the first time; Pergalumna conspicua and P. frater are recorded in Madagascar for the first time.

Two new species of oribatid mites of the family Oppiidae collected from leaf litter in Madagascar are described. Ramuselloppia indistincta sp. nov. differs from Ramuselloppia anomala by larger body size, the presence of epimeral tubercles  and comparatively long lamellar, interlamellar and notogastral setae and the absence of costulae and heads of bothridial setae. An identification key to known species of Ramuselloppia is provided. Lanceoppia (Baioppia) rugosa sp. nov. differs from all species of the subgenus by heavily rugose posterior part of the notogaster. The genus Ramuselloppia and subgenus Lanceoppia (Baioppia) are recorded in the Ethiopian region for the first time; the species Multioppia (Hammeroppia) wilsoni is recorded in Madagascar for the first time.

Two species of oribatid mites (Acari: Oribatida), Pergalumna pseudosejugalis sp. nov. and Oribatella gerdweigmanni sp. nov. are described from Bu Gia Map National Park (Southern Vietnam). Pergalumna pseudosejugalis sp. nov. is most similar morphologically to P. crassipora Mahunka, 1995, but it differs from the latter in the microfoveolate integument, presence of pseudosejugal line, of a pair of transversal striate bands on ventral side and of median pore, and by shorter lamellar setae. Oribatella gerdweigmanni sp. nov. is most similar morphologically to O. sculpturata Mahunka, 1987, but it differs from the latter in a smaller body size, a microfoveolate integument, the presence of the translamella, more short lateral and medial lamellar dens, and sparse striae in an epimeral region.

Two new species of oribatid mites of the genus Pergalumna (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from the Tam Dao National Park of Northern Vietnam. Pergalumna kunsti sp. nov. differs from P. magnipora xishuangbanna Aoki & Hu, 1993 by the larger body size, barbed bothridial setae, peanut-shell shaped notogastral porose areas Aa, lamellar setae longer than interlamellar setae and smooth genital plates. Pergalumna storkani sp. nov. differs from P. paratsurusakii Ermilov, Shtanchaeva, Kaluz & Subias, 2013 by the larger body size, rounded rostrum, strong and erect adanal setae ad2, lamellar setae longer than interlamellar setae, and the absence of a median pore.

Three new species of oribatid mites (Oribatida) of the family Oppiidae collected from swamp moss near Laguna Parrillar National Park in Chile (Patagonia) are described. Kokoppia lagunaensis sp. nov. differs from Kokoppia inclinata, K. rafalskii and K. pectinata by the following morphological traits: body size; structure of costulae; absence of transcostula; presence of interbothridial tubercles; morphology of bothridial setae; number of solenidia on leg tarsi II. Setoppia parrillarensis sp. nov. differs from Setoppia strinovichi by the following morphological traits: body size; length of interlamellar setae; localization of notogastral setae la and adanal lyrifissures; absence of costulae. Graptoppia (Stenoppia) magallanesensis sp. nov. differs from Graptoppia (Stenoppia) italica by the following morphological traits: absence of transcostula; localization of notogastral setae la; presence of interbothridial tubercles. The species Oppia inclinata Hammer, 1962 is transferred to the genus Kokoppia and now is given as Kokoppia inclinata (Hammer, 1962) comb. nov.

Three new species of oribatid mites of the genus Protoribates (Oribatida, Haplozetidae) are described based on adult specimens from the Tam Dao National Park of Northern Vietnam. Protoribates chistyakovi sp. nov. differs from P. sangumburiensis (Choi, 1996) by being larger, the localization of lamellar setae, and morphology of rostrum and interlamellar setae. Protoribates shaldybinae sp. nov. differs from P. dentatus (Berlese, 1883) by its distinctly foveolate body surface, morphology of pedotecta II and leg tarsi I and II, and much longer adanal setae ad2. Protoribates shvanderovi sp. nov. differs from P. gracilis (Aoki, 1982) by its larger body size, localization of lamellar setae, and the relative lengths of lamellar, interlamellar and bothridial setae, and longer dorsophragmata. An identification key to the Vietnamese species of the genus Protoribates is given.

AbstractThree new oribatid mite species of the genus Pergalumna (Galumnidae) are described from growing mosses on rocks near a water stream in India. Pergalumna paraclericata sp. n. is very similar morphologically to Carinogalumna clericata (Berlese, 1914), however, it differs from the latter by the structure of lamellar lines and number of notogastral porose areas. Pergalumna minipora sp. n. is very similar morphologically to Pergalumna bifissurata Hammer, 1972, however, it differs from the latter by the body size and the presence of prodorsal ridges and a median pore. Pergalumna paracattienica sp. n. is very similar morphologically to Pergalumna cattienica Ermilov & Anichkin, 2011, however, it differs from the latter by the number of notogastral porose areas and the body integument on the ventral plate.

The present study is based on oribatid mite material (Acari, Oribatida) collected from Tam Dao National Park (Northern Vietnam) in 1988. A list of identified taxa, including 119 species from 80 genera and 47 families, is presented; of these, 13 species (Epilohmannoides rabori, Camisia spinifer, Sadocepheus undulatus, Eremobelba flexuosa, Hammerella excisa, Suctobelbella inenodabilis, Dolicheremaeus auritus, Eupelops acromios, Protoribates genitalis, Allogalumna machadoi, Carinogalumna philippinensis, Pergalumna magnipora capillaris, Galumnella nipponica) and five genera (Epilohmannoides, Camisia, Sadocepheus, Brassiella, Carinogalumna) are recorded in the Vietnamese fauna for the first time, and two species (Tokunocepheus mizusawai, Flagellozetes (Cosmogalumna) ornatus), one genus (Tokunocepheus) and one family (Tokunocepheidae) are recorded in the Oriental region for the first time. Two new species are described: Ramusella paraarcuata sp. nov. differs from Ramusella arcuata Mahunka & Mahunka-Papp, 2012 by the larger body size, lamellar setae similar in length and thickness to interlamellar setae, the presence of two or three branches on bothridial setae, and the absence of notogastral setae c. Neoribates paragracilis sp. nov. differs from Neoribates gracilis Travé, 1972 by the larger body size, and the presence of long apex (not shorter than head) on bothridial setae.

Two new species of oribatid mites of the genus Pilizetes (Oribatida, Galumnidae) are described from litter and soil in the Korup National Park (Cameroon). Pilizetes paradudichi sp. nov. differs from Pilizetes dudichi Balogh, 1966 by the presence of long interlamellar setae and clearly longer notogastral setae. Pilizetes parasellnicki sp. nov. differs from Pilizetes sellnicki Balogh, 1958 by the presence of thickened, heavily ciliated and long epimeral setae 3b, 4a, 4b and 4c.
