A New Species

A new species of the genus Aneuclis Förster, 1869, A. flavopedes Sheng, Zhou & Wei, sp.nov. collected from the field of the Research Station of Liaohe-River Plain Forest Ecosystem, Zhangwu, Liaoning Province, China, is described and illustrated. The new species is inserted into the key provided by Khalaim (2004).

In this paper a new species Cretonanophyes zherikhini sp. nov. and a new genus and species Abrocar brachyorhinos gen. et sp. nov., all placed within the family Eccoptarthridae, are described and illustrated. They pertain to the Late Jurassic Yixian Formation of the western Liaoning province, China. This finding represents the first record of fossil eccoptarthrids from China.

A New Species

A new species of the genus Drosophila, Drosophila sagittifolii sp. nov. is described. Adult specimens of D. sagittifolii were aspirated from the inflorescences of Xanthosoma sagittifolium (L.) Schott (camacho), from which they also emerged, at the Río Guajalito Research Station, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, Ecuador.

AbstractThe order Intejocerida is an enigmatic, short-lived cephalopod taxon known previously only from Early–Middle Ordovician beds of Siberia and the United States. Here we report a new genus, Cabaneroceras, and a new species, C. aznari, from Middle Ordovician strata of central Spain. This finding widens the paleogeographic range of the order toward high-paleolatitudinal areas of peri-Gondwana. In 1957 James R. Beer, Edwin F. Cook and Robert G. Schwab, of the University of Minnesota, conducted an investigation of mammals and their ectoparasites in the Chiricahua Mountains of southeastern Arizona. The area studied included varied habitats in the general vicinity of the Southwestern Research Station of the American Museum of Natural History at Portal. An account of this investigation has now been published (Beer et al., 1959).

Golinca trevisani Valois & Silva, new species (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Cetoniinae: Trichiini: Incina) from Ouro Preto do Oeste, Rondônia, and Amazonas, Brazil is described, representing the first record of the genus Golinca for Brazil. Diagnosis, illustrations of key morphological characters, the first male genitalia description in the genus, and a key for identification of four species of Golinca are provided.
