Based on light and scanning electron microscopical studies of nematode specimens from the digestive tract of some rarely collected anguilliform and perciform fishes off New Caledonia, three new species of Cucullanus Müller, 1777 (Cucullanidae) are described: C. austropacificus n. sp. from the longfin African conger Conger cinereus (Congridae), C. gymnothoracis n. sp. from the lipspot moray Gymnothorax chilospilus (Muraenidae), and C. incognitus n. sp. from the seabream Dentex fourmanoiri (Sparidae). Cucullanus austropacificus n. sp. is characterized by the presence of cervical alae, ventral sucker, alate spicules 1.30–1.65 mm long, conspicuous outgrowths of the anterior and posterior cloacal lips and by elongate-oval eggs measuring 89–108 × 48–57 μm; C. gymnothoracis n. sp. is similar to the foregoing species, but differs from it in the absence of cervical alae and the posterior cloacal outgrowth, in the shape and size of the anterior cloacal outgrowth and somewhat shorter spicules 1.12 mm long; C. incognitus n. sp. (based on female morphology) differs from other congeneric species parasitic in the Sparidae mainly in possessing cervical alae, the postequatorial vulva, phasmids situated at the mid-length of the tail and in the size of the eggs (75–84 × 45–66 μm). A key to species of Cucullanus parasitizing anguilliform fishes is provided.

The Syrphidae genus Domodon Reemer, 2013 so far included two species, D. zodiacus Reemer, 2013 and D. peperpotensis Reemer, 2014, both recorded only from Suriname. Additional specimens belonging to this genus have been collected in many other localities in South and Central America. In this paper, the genus is revised and three new species are described: D. caxiuana sp. nov. (northern South America), D. inaculeatus sp. nov. (northern South America), and D. sensibilis sp. nov. (Costa Rica). The distribution of D. peperpotensis is extended to include French Guiana. Photographs of the type material of the new species and illustrations of male genitalia of all species are provided, as well as a key to species.

Three new species are described from Ecuador: Scythropopsis granitica (Lamiinae, Acanthoderini); Apeba danielvlasaki (Lamiinae, Hemilophini); and Giesberteclipta unicolor (Cerambycinae, Rhinotragini). Two new species are described from Honduras: Anelaphus rotundus (Cerambycinae, Elaphidiini); and Euderces hefferni (Cerambycinae, Tillomorphini). A key to species of Apeba Martins & Galileo, 1991, and Giesberteclipta Santos-Silva et al., 2012 are provided. Euderces hefferni sp. nov. is included in a previous key. Rashelapso morrisoni Bezark & Santos-Silva, 2016 is transferred to Giesberteclipta. The holotype of Anelaphus subinermis Linsley, 1957 is illustrated for the first time.

The endemic Hawaiian nitidulid genus Apetasimus is revised and a key to species provided. Originally described for a single species, Apetasimus involucer, five new species are described and five species are moved from the endemic Hawaiian genus Orthostolus. The following new species are described: Apetasimus conditus sp. nov., A. ganeademus sp. nov., A. abstrusus sp. nov., A. pleomelarrosus sp. nov., and A. debbiae sp. nov. Six species previously assigned to Orthostolus and the monotypic Cyrtostolus are moved to Apetasimus; Apetasimus guttatus comb. nov., Apetasimus sordidus comb. nov., Apetasimus expers comb. nov., Apetasimus atratus comb. nov., Apetasimus kauaiensis comb. nov., and Apetasimus subalatus comb. nov. Apetasimus are arranged in three species groups: pleomelarrosus-group, involucer-group, and guttatus-group. The involucer-group is characterized by brachyptery, and are rarely collected. The pleomelarrosus-group is fully winged and one species, A. pleomelarrosus, is locally abundant on Kauai. One member of the guttatus-group, A. subalatus, is brachypterous. All guttatus-group species are presumed extinct, with the last known collection in 1935.

The Agrilus purpurifrons species-group comprising twelve species from the Oriental region is defined and revised. A key to species is provided and complemented with illustrations of habitus and genitalia. Three new species are described: Agrilus cameronius sp. nov. (Malaysia); A. puncak sp. nov. (Indonesia); and A. vendibilis sp. nov. (Indonesia). The following taxonomic changes are proposed: the specific names lacroixi Obenberger, 1936 syn. nov. and chapaensis Descarpentries & Villiers, 1967 syn. nov. are junior synonyms in the synonymy of A. morio Kerremans, 1895; the name rousselatae Baudon, 1968 stat. rev. is removed from the synonymy of A. lacroixi Obenberger, 1936 and revalidated as the specific name of A. rousselatae Baudon, 1968.
