The status of the genus Phelene stat. resurr., previously synonymized under Chiriquia is revalidated. The genus is redescribed and Phelene turgida stat. rev. a lectotype and paralectotypes are designated for this species. Tetrix laticeps is proposed as nomen dubium and its described a new additional species Phelene maroon n. sp. The diagnosis of the subfamily is adjusted with the characters of the new taxa included and an updated key of genera and species is provided.

A new species and eight new subspecies of Papilionoidea discovered in Vietnam between 2002 and 2020 are described and illustrated. The status of two taxa are revised. New taxa include Pieridae: Delias sanaca bidoupa Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. and Talbotia naganum aurelia Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov.; Nymphalidae: Abrota ganga pulcheria Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Bassarona recta consonensis Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Pantoporia bieti aurantina Monastyrskii & To subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata cristata Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Ragadia latifasciata crystallina Monastyrskii & Vu, subspec. nov.; Faunis indistincta luctus Monastyrskii & Vu subspec. nov. & Aemona gialaica Monastyrskii, K. Saito & Vu, spec. nov. The taxon infuscata Devyatkin & Monastyrskii, previously described as the subspecies Aemona tonkinensis infuscata, was elevated to the species level, while the taxon critias (Ragadia critias Riley & Godfrey) was reduced to a subspecies. Three Satyrinae species were recorded from Vietnam for the first time: Palaeonympha opalina Butler, 1871; Ypthima motschulskyi Bremer & Grey, 1853; and Ragadia latifasciata Leech, 1891.

We wish not only to up-date the taxonomy used by DE MAN in his 1911 study but also to add to his list of species those new records of species from Indonesia based, upon collections made subsequently by various individuals and agencies. DE MAN reported that he had 113 species and 20 varieties of these shrimp from the Siboga Expedition; of these, 54 species and varieties have been reduced to synonymy in the subsequent years. In the present study these additional species are also being so reduced:Alpheopsis hummelinki SCHMITT (= Neoalpheopsis euryone (De Man)Neoalpheopsis hiatti BANNER (= N. euryone De Man) Synalpheus jedanensis De Man (= S. iphinoe De Man) S. miscellaneus De Man ( = S. neomeris (De Man) S. physocheles Coutiere (= S. triunguiculatus (Paulson) S. sluiteri De Man (= S. paraneomeris Coutiere) S. stimpsonii var. maldivensis C outiere (= S. stimpsonii ( De Man) S. streptodactytoides De Man (=S. streptodactylus Couti>re)From the post-Siboga collections, we list an additional 28 established species from Indonesian waters as well as two new species: Alpheus nipa and Synalpheus mortenseni; we also have reviewed the status of Alpheus (= Synalpheus) tricuspidatus Heller (1861) and consider it to be a nomen dubium. We now recognize a total of 145 species from Indonesian waters plus an additional 2 species left unnamed by De Man and by us.

The fossil cricket Araripegryllus romualdoi was described by Freitas et al. (2016) based on a single, very poorly preserved specimen from the Romualdo Member of the Lower Cretaceous Santana Formation; a deposit famed for the exceptional preservation of vertebrates in carbonate concretions (Martill, 1996, 2007). While abundant and diverse in the underlying Crato Formation (Martill et al., 2007 and contributions therein), fossil insects had not been reported from the Santana Formation prior to Freitas et al.’s paper. The occurrence of an insect in the Santana Formation is certainly noteworthy, but the description of a new species and its placement in the genus Araripegryllus are problematic, primarily because of the very poor preservation of the specimen. Here, problems associated with the diagnosis and placement of A. romualdoi are outlined, and the species declared a nomen dubium.

The genus Leielmis was recently revised by Bilton (2017), who established the identity of the type species Leielmis georyssoides (Grouvelle, 1890), and described two new taxa: Leielmis gibbosus Bilton, 2017, widespread in the Cape Fold Mountains and Leielmis hirsutus Bilton, 2017, known to date only from a single site at high altitude in the Groote Winterhoek mountains. A distinctive new species of Leielmis was discovered in a high altitude stream in 2017 in the Hexrivierberge, being collected whilst the generic revision was in press! This species is described below, and a modified key to Leielmis species presented. In light of this discovery it appears likely that further work at high altitude will reveal additional species in the Cape.

A survey of wingless insects belonging to the orders Microcoryphia (=Archaeognatha) and Zygentoma (=Thysanura s. str.) has been performed in subterranean habitats of central Iran. As a result, several new species have been discovered. In this work, three new species are described: a new species of bristletail of the family Machilidae,Haslundiellairanicasp. n., a new silverfish of the family Lepismatidae,Ctenolepismasubterraneumsp. n., and a new Nicoletiidae, Lepidospora (Brinckina) momtazianasp. n.These new taxa are compared with related species in their respective genera and keys for their identification are provided: one for all known species ofHaslundiellaand one for all basal insects of subterranean environments of Iran which includes those previously reported. Moreover, the previously published keys of IranianCtenolepismaand the subgenus Brinckina are modified to include the new species. Three additional species of Lepismatidae are reported in this work:Neoasterolepìsma palmoniiandCtenolepismatargioniiare newly recorded from Iran and both species, together withAcrotelsacollaris, are cited for the first time in the subterranean habitats. This survey progresses the knowledge on the biodiversity of these insects in Iran.

Parapachymorpha is one of eight genera within the tribe Medaurini of subfamily Clitumninae (Phasmatidae). It was established by Brunner von Wattenwyl (1893), with the type species Parapachymorpha nigra by subsequent designation of Kirby (1904), from Myanmar. Species of this genus are widely distributed in oriental tropics (Laos, China, Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam and Cambodia), with only 11 known species in the world (Brock et al. 2018, Ho 2017). Species of the genus Parapachymorpha can be recognized by following characters (Brunner von Wattenwyl 1893;1907, Henmemann & Conle 2008, Ho 2017): 1) body robust in female and slender in male with long leg in relation to the length; 2) body surface of female granulose or spinose; 3) mesonotum of female more and less expanded posteriorly; 4) abdominal tergites lacking expanded prostero–lateral angles in both sexes; 5) laminal supraanalis undeveloped in female; 6) semi–tergite of male irregularly rectangular, with an additional finger­–like ventro–apical appendix on the lower margin and reduced or absent; 7) egg capsule oval to oblong and covered with a raised net–like structure in lateral view; 8) micropylar plate oval; 9) operculum concave or convex. In the present study, we describe additional species, Parapachymorpha minuta sp. nov. from Laos, with photographs of both sexes of adults and egg.

Four additional species of quill mites of the family Syringophilidae Lavoipierre have now been recorded in England. This includes one new species, Bubophilus aluconis sp. nov., which parasitizes the tawny owl Strix aluco (Strigiformes: Strigidae). It differs from other species of this genus, B. ascalaphus Philips et Norton, 1978 and B. asiobius Skoracki et Bochkov, 2002 by the number of chambers in transverse branch of the peritremes (2-3), the length ratio of setae vi and ve (1:1.6-2), and the lengths of the stylophore and aggenital setae ag1 (180 and 135-145, respectively).

New taxa and synonymies in the group of Liptena opaca (Kirby, 1890) (Lepidoptera, Lycaenidae, Poritiinae). A lectotype of Liptena opaca (Kirby, 1890) is designated, and the status of three of its subspecies are revised: ugandana Stempffer, Bennett & May, 1974, is raised to specific rank, centralis Stempffer, Bennett & May, 1974, is synonymized with L. opaca gabunica, and sankuru Stempffer, Bennett & May, 1974, becomes a subspecies of L. albomacula Hawker-Smith, 1933. Liptena ouesso Stempffer, Bennett & May, 1974, is synonymized with L. immaculata Grünberg, 1910. Six new species are described, four from Cameroon (L. arnouxi n. sp., L. laguerrei n. sp., L. mariae n. sp. and L. perconfusa n. sp.), one from eastern Nigeria (L. brophyi n. sp.), and one species (L. restricta n. sp.) as well as a new subspecies (L. immaculata orientis n. ssp.) from north-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.
