This study proposes a novel hierarchical nonlinear proportional-integral fast terminal sliding mode (HNLPIFTSM) control for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) speed regulation system. A new type of sliding surface called HNLPIFTSM surface, which combines the benefits of a nonlinear proportional-integral (PI) sliding mode surface and a fast terminal sliding mode (FTSM) surface, is proposed to enhance the robustness and improved the dynamic response, whilst preserving the great property of the conventional hierarchical fast terminal sliding mode (HFTSM) control strategy. The proposed HNLPIFTSM surface uses the novel nonlinear PI sliding mode surface as its inner loop and uses the FTSM surface as its outer loop. Meanwhile, an extended state observer (ESO) is used to estimate the uncertain terms of the PMSM speed regulation system. Furthermore, the stability of the closed-loop control system under the ESO and the HNLPIFTSM control strategy is proved by the Lyapunov stability theorem. Finally, the simulations and experimental demonstrations verify the effectiveness and superiorities of our proposed HNLPIFTSM control strategy over the conventional HFTSM control strategy.

In view of the shortcomings of the existing multimotor synchronous control strategy, a new method of mean deviation coupling control for multimotor system via global fast terminal sliding mode control is proposed. Firstly, the mathematical model of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) under a d - q reference frame is established. Next, based on the deviation coupling control, the deviation is calculated by the average speed, and the structure of the deviation coupling control strategy is optimized. The speed controller of the multimotor system is designed based on the global fast terminal sliding mode control (GFTSMC) algorithm to improve the synchronization accuracy of the system. In addition, a load torque Luenberger observer is designed to observe the load in real time. Then, the stability analysis of the controller is carried out by using the Lyapunov function. Finally, a four-motor experimental platform is built to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

This study proposes a novel model-free intelligent proportional-integral supertwisting nonlinear fractional-order sliding mode control (MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC) strategy for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) speed regulation system. First of all, a model independent intelligent proportional-integral (iPI) control strategy is adopted for the motor speed regulation system. Next, a novel model-free supertwisting nonlinear fractional-order sliding mode control (ST-NLFOSMC) strategy is constructed based on the ultralocal model of PMSM. Meanwhile, a linear extended state observer (LESO) is used to estimate the unknown terms of the ultralocal model. Then, this study presents the novel hybrid MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC strategy which integrates the model-free ST-NLFOSMC strategy, the model-free iPI control strategy, and the LESO. Moreover, the stability of the proposed hybrid MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC strategy is proved by the Lyapunov stability theorem and fractional-order theory. Finally, the simulations and comparison results verify that the hybrid MF-iPI-ST-NLFOSMC strategy proposed in this paper has better performance than the other model-free controllers in terms of the static characteristic, dynamic characteristic, and robustness.

The paper proposes a cascade control strategy of speed feedback in inner loop and temperature feedback in outer ring for hydro-viscous driven fan cooling system, and compares the simulation of PID and fuzzy PID. The simulation result shows that the double-loop control system while the response time longer, but much smaller overshoot, can achieve a good feedback to adjust the fan speed and temperature and realize stepless speed regulation of hydro-viscous driven fan cooling system under the premise of stability for fan speed and system temperature.

Due to advantages such as high speed, high accuracy, low maintenance and high reliability, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) servo systems have been employed in many fields. In some cases, for example, speed fluctuations caused by load mutation would restrict the control stability, thereby limiting the usefulness of PMSM in high-precision applications. The speed regulation problem of PMSM servo control systems is discussed in this paper. A sliding mode disturbance control is developed in the vector control system to improve tracking performance of the PMSM system in order to suppress the speed fluctuations. The integration of sliding mode control and the proportional plus integral (PI) control can improve the performance of the closed-loop system and attenuate disturbances to a great extent. The proposed method can effectively improve the robustness and response speed of the system. Simulation and experimental analyses are conducted to demonstrate the superior properties of the proposed control method.
