The change of the specific wood surface at the shape memory effect is considered in this paper. The study was conducted using sorptive analyzer of specific surface and distribution of pores according to the size of Quadrasorb SI. Specific surface of samples SSA, сm2/g, was found by the low-temperature adsorption of krypton at liquid nitrogen temperature (77K) and was cal-culated by the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) method. The samples of beech, pine, oak sliced veneer and birch rotary-cut veneer were investigated.

The present study is dedicated to the microstructure characterization of the as-cast high entropy intermetallics that undergo a martensitic transformation, which is associated with the shape memory effect. It is shown that the TiZrHfCoNiCu system exhibits strong dendritic liquation, which leads to the formation of martensite crystals inside the dendrites. In contrast, in the CoNiCuAlGaIn system the dendritic liquation allows the martensite crystals to form only in interdendritic regions. This phenomenon together with the peculiarities of chemical inhomogeneities formed upon crystallization of this novel multicomponent shape memory alloys systems will be analyzed and discussed.

AbstractAn Fe-33Ni-12Co-5Ti (wt.%) alloy was subjected to aging treatments to determine the effect of ausaging (at 700 °C for 5, 10 and 30 hr) on the martensitic transformation and shape memory effect. The Ms temperatures were determined by electrical resistance measurements and microstructures were examined by TEM. The shape memory was studied by bending specimens in liquid nitrogen and found to be associated with a low Ms thermoelastic thin plate martensite.
