This chapter discusses a particular pedagogical methodology, case-based learning, and introduces an application that supports case studies. It suggests that authenticity, social interaction, community of practice, and resource accumulation are especially important for design and implementation of case-based learning systems. To make the arguments more vivid, the chapter also introduces a case study library that supports usability engineering education. Some of the suggestions are more related to case libraries or systems alike in particular, and some are valuable for learning management systems in general. The authors hope their study can invoke further research of computer-supported case studies in educational and CSCL communities, and more applications supporting this pedagogical approach will be developed.

With the growing trend of global competitiveness and business complexity, the need arises for integrating BDTs in the design of ODSS. BDTs enable ODSS to deal with data of volume, variety, and velocity beyond the capability of traditional databases and data-warehouses in ODSS. The basic modules of updated ODSS with BDT are presented as a conceptual design, which provides a general foundation for the detailed design and implementation of an application. The validation of the proposed conceptual design is conducted on a test-case based upon the BSC perspectives as well as requirements common for ODSS scenarios. The results show that each requirement of the system is supported by a set of integrated modules in a balanced way. The modules of the highest contribution in the conceptual design are the modules most related to BDT. The initial stages of the implementation of the system are given.

Aiming at design a digital art teaching system and improve its performance, the interactive virtual technology is proposed. The art design major education innovation must abide by the open character and build scientists’ teaching and curricula system and quality judgment criteria and mechanisms. We can exploit digital art major education with creativity, so invigorated digital art design stimulates education develops soundly, orderly and creatively. The system was implemented in 9 levels of the 206 universities. The results indicate that the system will help the combination of science and art, highlight distinctive university management with scientific teaching system and transform students 9 intelligence cultivation into wisdom and creation.
