Despite a large body of literature on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), studies on young children’s usage of media technology in China are still scant. This paper characterises the variations in Chinese parental acceptance and intent to continue related to their children’s use of web-based English as a Foreign Language (EFL) technologies. A sample of 20 parents from an inland city in China participated in individual interviews and reported factors affecting their acceptance and preferences. Thematic analysis reveals that parents’ beliefs about EFL affect the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of EFL technologies. The study has also found that Chinese parents are now attaching more importance to children’s emotional and social skills development.

Higher education institutions are faced with the complex challenges of serving increased enrollment levels within tight budgets. This challenge is prompting many universities to explore new approaches including the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle for delivering courses to help extend teaching and learning beyond the classroom. Using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) as an underlying theory, this study investigated students' perceived usefulness as well as the perceived ease of use of Moodle in the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana. The study also used multiple linear regression to determine if these factors have any impact on the rate at which students use Moodle. Data was collected from a random sample of 229 students from the Faculty of Science Education using a questionnaire. The analysis revealed that students' perceived usefulness of Moodle and perceived challenges in using Moodle combined contributes significantly to students' rate of Moodle use.

The purpose of this research is to investigate factors affecting Indonesian pre-service teachers’ (PSTs) teachers’ use of m-learning management systems (m-LMS) in higher education. The difference regarding the use of m-LMS based on some demographic information namely gender, university, year in university, and age are also reported as well as gaining an in-depth understanding of the use of m-LMS in Indonesian universities. To achieve this, two approaches, quantitative and qualitative, were applied. First, we developed and distributed a survey instrument to 210 students teachers based on the technology acceptance model (TAM). In addition, we interviewed 7 of the PSTs to obtain an in-depth understanding of the use of m-learning in their learning. Some statistical calculations were presented such as mean, standard deviation, Cronbach’s alpha, t-test, and ANOVA. Findings suggest that PSTs’ use m-LMS are related to their Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use, Subjective norm and attitudes Self-efficacy and supporting condition. From these results, we recommend that teacher educators should target these factors within teacher development programs to prepare PSTs for successful use of m-LMS.

Cloud computing is a viable alternative for meeting the technological needs of many  enterprises with the benefits of instantaneous computing resource fulfillment, technology expenditures at lower costs, common technology platforms that can facilitate standardization and decreased  need for internal technology support personnel. This paper examined the behavioral intention to adopt cloud computing services in large and small organization using an Enhanced Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM). The aim is to investigate the factors affecting cloud computing adoption in Nigeria. The model includes variables that other research has found related to adoption of new computing services and technologies. Regression Analysis was then deployed to test the research hypotheses. The result of regression analysis revealed that attitude and adopters ability to use cloud computing (self-efficacy) were better predictor of intention; perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of cloud computing were better predictor of attitude; perceived ease of use and the relevant of cloud computing to adopters’ work (job relevance) were the predictor of perceived usefulness.

The main purposes of this study are to investigate citizen adoption of e-government services in Jordan and to explore factors affecting the level of adoption of e-government services. Importantly, this study aims to develop a conceptual framework that is based on previous literature of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in order to examine the relationships between certain factors (government trustworthiness, service quality and citizen satisfaction) and citizen adoption of e-government services. A self-administered questionnaire was used to capture data from 356 Jordanian citizens across the country randomly. The findings indicate that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, citizen satisfaction and trustworthiness are significant predictors of the Jordanian intention to use an e-government service. The results also showed that the service quality dimensions: responsiveness, reliability, and empathy have significant impacts on the citizen satisfaction. The study has made significant contributions to the body of knowledge at academic and practical levels as an important exploratory study that was conducted in the context of Jordan, a developing country with genuine need for more research works on e-government issues. In addition, this study provides some valuable insights into the performance and adoption of e-government in Jordan that could help government agencies to improve the effectiveness of their services.

This chapter draws on a survey of CEO and IT managers in local authorities in Egypt to explain the key factors affecting their use of DSS in making strategic decisions. This chapter proposes and tests a Structural Equation Model (SEM) that extends the generally accepted Technology Acceptance Model to assess relationships between an extensive range of constructs and their relation with DSS usage via Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness. The SEM approach has enabled the development of a framework that will support a sustainable approach towards the adoption and use of DSS in developing Middle Eastern countries.

BACKGROUND In the medical industry, the successful completion of many medical practices often relies on information collection and analysis. Government agencies and medical institutions encourage people to use medical information technology (MIT) to manage their conditions and to promote personal health. In 2014, Taiwan established the first electronic personal health record (PHR) platform, My Health Bank (MHB), allowing people to access and manage their PHRs at any time. Facing the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in 2020, Taiwan has used MIT to effectively prevent the spread of COVID-19 and completed various prevention measures before the outbreak. Using MHB to purchase masks in an efficient and orderly way and thoroughly implement personal protection efforts is highly important. OBJECTIVE (1) To understand the people’s intention to use the electronic PHR platform MHB. (2) To investigate the factors affecting people’s intention to use MHB. METHODS From March 31, 2014 to April 9, 2014, in a promotion via email and Facebook, subjects were asked to fill out the structured questionnaire after watching an introductory video about MHB on YouTube. The questionnaire included seven dimensions: Perceived usefulness, Perceived ease of use, Health literacy, Privacy and security, Computer self-efficacy, Attitude toward use, and Behavioral intention to use. Each question was measured on a 5-point Likert scale from “strongly disagree” (1 point) to “strongly agree” (5 points). Descriptive statistics and structural equation analysis were performed using IBM SPSS Statistics 21 and AMOS 21. RESULTS This study collected 350 valid questionnaires (female: 219/350, 62.6%; age: 21-30 years: 238/350, 68.0%; education level: university: 228/350, 65.1%; occupation: student: 195/350, 56.6; average monthly income: < NT $30,000: 230/350, 65.7%; residence: northern Taiwan: 236/350, 67.4%; and perceived health status: good: 171/350, 48.9%). Four indicators, i.e., chi-squared value/degree of freedom (X2/df) (2.63), goodness-of-fit index (GFI) (0.85), adjusted goodness-of-fit index (AGFI) (0.81), and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) (0.07), were calculated. The results showed that the overall fit and fitness of the model were good. Further analysis indicated that the most important factor affecting the behavioral intention to use was the attitude toward use (0.78), followed by perceived ease of use (0.65), perceived usefulness (0.41), health literacy (0.10), and privacy and security (0.07). CONCLUSIONS From the perspective of the populace, this study explored the factors affecting the use of MHB and constructed an interpretation model with a strong goodness of fit. The results of our analysis are consistent with the technology acceptance model. Through the diverse value-added services of MHB, Taiwan's experience in pandemic prevention with smart technology can be helpful for facing future threats of unknown, emerging infectious diseases.
