PurposeStructural equation modeling was conducted, and a sample with 577 consumers was investigated.Design/methodology/approachBased on the stimulus–organism–response (SOR) model, this study aims to explore how channel integration affects usage intention through perceived value in food delivery platform (FDP) services. Moreover, the author also examines the moderating effects of personal innovativeness and experience on the relationships in the model.FindingsThe study found that channel integration affects usage intention through perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment and perceived price. Moreover, the moderating effects of personal innovativeness and experience are both significant in the model.Research limitations/implicationsThis study found that perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment and perceived price are three major values influencing the relationship between channel integration and usage intention in FDP services. Moreover, for consumers with high personal innovativeness, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, social image and perceived risk affecting usage intention will be weaker than for consumers with low personal innovativeness. However, for highly experienced consumers, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment and perceived price affecting usage intention will be stronger than for less experienced consumers.Practical implicationsThis study suggests that practitioners should develop value-driven innovative services and activities by integrating various channels for customers. Moreover, they should segment consumers on the basis of different levels of personal innovativeness and experience to provide different strategies for increasing the intention to use the service.Originality/valueThis study advances the extant knowledge of the SOR model in the context of online-to-offline commerce.

With advances in communication technologies, virtual reality (VR) has become increasing popular. This study investigated the influence of virtual experiences on advertising effects. A 2 (virtual experience immersion: high vs. low) × 2 (virtual experience product control: high vs. low) × 2 (virtual experience product stimulation: high vs. low) between-subjects design was conducted. The results revealed that compared with the low-immersion virtual experience, the high-immersion virtual experience produced better advertisement attitudes. Furthermore, virtual experiences with high product control generated better advertisement attitudes when compared with virtual experiences with low product control. The two-way interactions between virtual experience product stimulation and immersion and between virtual experience product stimulation and virtual experience product control induced better brand attitude and purchase intention. In addition, telepresence and perceived enjoyment mediated the relationship between virtual experience and advertisement attitudes.

The chapter aims at understanding the predictors of customer satisfaction with online shopping in India by using self-determination theory. This research validates perceived enjoyment, social influence, social media interactions, reverse logistics, and pay-on-delivery (POD) mode of payment as new predictors of customer satisfaction in online shopping. Data was collected through a self-administered and structured questionnaire targeting online shoppers in North Indian states. A sample of 424 online shoppers was considered in this research. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to evaluate the constructs. CFA was applied to calculate validity and composite reliability. To examine the hypothesized relationships, path analysis was carried out. The findings of the chapter revealed that social influence, reverse logistics, and POD mode of payment had a significant positive impact on customer satisfaction. Perceived enjoyment emerged as the strongest predictor of online shopping satisfaction. In contrast, social media interactions emerged as non-significant.

Pandemic Covid-19 has resulted in disruption in various industry and business sectors. People spend more time at home than they do outside. People who like movies during this time can enjoy the cinema. However, during the covid-19 pandemic, it must be done online to follow strictly regulated restrictions on community activities to avoid the uncontrolled spread of the virus. As a result, streaming platforms with the advancement of internet technology are increasingly playing a role in providing online services for movie fans. This study investigated the effects of perceived ease of use, usefulness, enjoyment, and intention to use online platforms on behavioral intention in online movies during the Covid 19 pandemic. The questionnaires were distributed by sending google form links to respondents who have a streaming platform subscription in Indonesia. As many as 772 questionnaires were filled out completely and could be processed. Data analysis was done by using partial least squares with Smart PLS software. The results have shown that eight proposed hypotheses have been supported in this study. Perceived ease of use positively affects the perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and intention to watch movies online. Furthermore, perceived usefulness affects perceived enjoyment and intention to watch movies online. Perceived enjoyment influences intention to use and behavioral intention. Finally, intention to use online platforms influences behavioral intention. This research contributes in theory to the technology acceptance model and provides film industry practitioners with insight into enhancing customer behavioral intention in the pandemic era.


This study sheds light on the role of technological factors (i.e., perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and compatibility), and knowledge sharing between teachers and students in predicting smart classroom adoption in the context of higher education in Saudi Arabia. We selected a sample of 285 instructors from 6 universities in Saudi Arabia. Structural equation modelling was utilised to analyse the data and test the suggested hypotheses. The results indicated that technological factors (i.e., perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and compatibility) have a significant influence on intention to adopt smart classroom. Furthermore, knowledge sharing plays a significant role in predicting smart classroom adoption. The results offer meaningful implications for practice and theory.

The study aimed to understand factors influencing customers' online shopping intentions. This study used the technology acceptance model (TAM) and extended it, including social value and perceived enjoyment, to measure customers' intentions in the online shopping context. Three hundred one validated data was collected using personal interviews and the online survey approach through convenience sampling technique from 20 to 60 years old. Subsequently, data were analyzed through PLS-SEM. The measurement model was first examined to determine whether the constructs predict online shopping intentions. After validating the measurement model, the subsequent structural model was analyzed using Smart PLS 3.3.3. The study results revealed that perceived usefulness, attitude, social value, and perceived enjoyment are significant positive predictors of online shopping intentions. However, perceived ease of use insignificantly impacted online shopping intentions. Moreover, this study results showed that perceived enjoyment partially mediates the relationship between perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, social value, and online shopping intentions. In contrast, the influence of attitude on intentions is insignificantly mediated by perceived enjoyment. This study will provide online e-retailers with insights into how practitioners can influence customers to shop online. Customer behaviour is the result of customers' intentions, built through perceived usefulness, ease of use, attitude, social value, and enjoyment.

Financial technology (otherwise known as FinTech) refers to a type of technology and innovation that tries to improve and automate the delivery and use of financial services. Despite the importance of this technology in people’s financial transactions in improving the management of their financial operations, processes, and lives, there is a lack of empirical evidence about sustainable FinTech services in the Jordanian context. Consequently, this research examines the factors that influence the acceptance of FinTech services, which have a variety of social, environmental, and ecological benefits. This study proposes an integrated model by combining the extended technology acceptance model (TAM) with the perceived enjoyment as an independent variable and electronic word of mouth (eWOM) as a moderator variable simultaneously. A total of 304 responses from Jordanian citizens were analyzed by the quantitative method of partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The result confirmed that perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment have a significant and positive influence on users’ decision to use FinTech services. Meanwhile, eWOM is found to moderate the relationship between perceived usefulness and Jordanians’ decisions to use FinTech services. Finally, this study provides practical implications for managers to encourage them to provide adequate, reliable, and sustainable services to their customers at a reasonable cost that fit their demands and ultimately improve their living standards. Current study limitations and future research directions are presented in the last section.

The undertaken research investigates the extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model from the perspective of online education in the deadliest period of COVID-19. This research investigates the extended dimensions, for instance, mobile self-efficacy and perceived enjoyment besides traditional elements of the UTAUT model with the relationship of behavioural intention and user behaviour of LMS. Since the COVID-19 led to social isolation (SIS), thus, this study has incorporated SIS as mediating factor and fear of COVID-19 (FOC) as the moderating factor for the considered extended model of UTAUT. The data of 1875 respondents was collected from five different Asian countries. For the data analysis, this study employed structural equation modeling through PLS-SEM and condition process modeling. This research demonstrates that the extended dimensions such as mobile self-efficacy, besides the traditional elements of the UTAUT model, exerted a cogent impact on behavioural intention except for the perceived enjoyment. Similarly, the behavioural intention demonstrated a substantial effect on the user behaviour of LMS. Additionally, social isolation as a mediating factor and FOC has a significant effect between dimensions of extended UTAUT model and behavioural intention of LMS. The outcomes of this research demonstrate significant theoretical and practical implications during the COVID-19 pandemic.
