Rizal Fauzan Adi Rahardjo, Heru Winarno, in paper water level detection based atmega 8 microcontroller with lcd display, led, buzzer and seven segment as early warning of post water (rob) increase based CP1E-E40DR-A programmable logic controller explain that as a result of the overflow of the tidal sea water in rural areas sriwulan sayung District of Demak , the tidal water easily entered into the residential area , which can be fatal if not in further tackle. Tidal flood has become commonplace in the area Sriwulan Sayung District of Demak . However , the longer the tidal flood is troubling and very disturbing society . So I took the initiative to create a miniature tidal flood prevention . Height of the water level of a river that flows directly into the sea will be detected by the sensor. The sensors will send data to the PLC and will be displayed by the seven segment . Further increase in the water level of the river will also affect the water level in the ditch homes residents . Height of the ditch water level is detected by the sensor which will send data to the PLC and then displayed by seven segment LCD and previously through the microcontroller atmega 8. Abstract— Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) is an essential component in industrial automation where it acts as the backbone of the system. In line with Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0, most industrial and manufacturing sectors move towards automation systems. Preparing university students about automation and PLC fundamental knowledge and skill is crucial before graduation, where the preoccupied knowledge will enhance graduate employability. Fulfilling this task, universities have to prepare the necessary equipment in the laboratory for teaching and learning purposes. The problem arises when certain universities with budget constraints cannot purchase the equipment for the PLC embedded system as huge costs have to be borne by universities. Thus, an alternative approach has to be taken where the main objective of this paper is to develop an interactive water level control system simulator as a substitution of the expensive automation PLC embedded system for teaching and learning purposes. OMRON software, namely CX-Programmer and CX-Designer used to design and develop an interactive water level control system simulator. In addition, the interactive water level control will be embedded with a PLC component that replicates the actual automation system laboratory equipment. Moreover, universities with a limited budget can utilize the tool for teaching and learning purposes of the PLC and automation system, which is the main contribution of this paper. The research on gate control work presents the concept of regulating the flow of water by controlling the dam gates or shutters using servo-motors in order to manage the dam water level. Water level control and insufficient water supply are the major challenges at the hydropower company (HDPC). The system at this dam site consists of the outlet works tower with four outlet penstocks that collects water to the main discharge outlet. The automation implements the electronic control system that uses the programmable logic controller (PLC) and the optical level sensors to detect water level. For the new design, the power screw hoist mechanism is used to open and close the gate of weight 600N with the efficiency of 35.4% of the square thread screw. The gate takes 160 seconds to travel a vertical distance of 600mm in its guide, to fully open and close the 400mm penstock diameter. Mat-lab Simulink was used to control the electronic system for stability to avoid vibrations and fluctuation of speed.

Sistem kontrol elektropneumatik telah banyak digunakan dalam menunjang pekerjaan di dunia industri,perkembangan teknologi ini harus segera direspons oleh dosen pada perguruan tinggi vokasi yang memiliki peran sebagai pencetak calon tenaga ahli siap kerjauntuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menguji kelayakan desain media pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller</em>, (2) mendeskripsikan respons mahasiswa dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller</em> dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan <em>Research and Development</em> (R&amp;D) dengan melalui beberapa tahap, yaitu tahap analisis potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba produk, revisi produk, dan uji coba pemakaian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar validasi ahli yang diberikan oleh 3 orang ahli dan angket respons yang diperoleh dari mahasiswa. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini yaitu: (1) desain pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller</em> mendapatkan nilai validasi yang diberikan oleh para ahli dengan rata-rata nilai 3,51 sehingga menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran dalam kategori baik dan layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran, (2) respons mahasiswa dalam menggunakan media pembelajaran sistem kontrol elektropneumatik berbasis <em>programmable logic controller </em>dalam kegiatan pembelajaran diperoleh nilai persentase 84,34%mahasiswa memberikan respons menarik, dengan demikian hasil respons mahasiswa termasuk dalam kategori baik.
