R-P(Se)F2- (R = CH3, C2H5, C3H11, C6H5, N(CH3)2, N(C2H5)2, NHSi(CH3)3) and R-P(Se)FCl-compounds (R = CH3, C2H5) can be prepared by reaction of R-P(Se)Cl2-derivatives with antimony(III)fluoride under reduced pressure. In some cases the oxidation of fluorophophines with elemental selenium is successful. The isolated compounds are colourless volatile liquids which are sensitive to air and moisture. The chemical properties are described.1H-, 19F-, 31P-NMR-, IR- and Raman-spectroscopic data are given. Main stretching frequencies are discussed by comparison with similar oxygen- and sulphur-compounds.

Separate reactions of [Th{N(CH2CH2NSiMe2But)2(CH2CH2NSi(Me)(But)(μ-CH2)]2 (1) with [Re(η5-C5H5)2(H)] (2) or [Ru(η5-C5H5)(H)(CO)2] (3) produced, by alkane elimination, [Th(TrenDMBS)Re(η5-C5H5)2] (ThRe, TrenDMBS = {N(CH2CH2NSiMe2But)3}3-), and [Th(TrenDMBS)Ru(η5-C5H5)(CO)2] (ThRu), which were isolated in crystalline yields of 71% and 62%, respectively. Complex ThRe is the first example of a molecular Th-Re bond to be structurally characterised, and ThRu is only the second example of a structurally authenticated Th-Ru bond. By comparison to isostructural U-analogues, quantum chemical calculations, which are validated by IR and Raman spectroscopic data, suggest that the Th-Re and Th-Ru bonds reported here are more ionic than the corresponding U-Re and U-Ru bonds.

Polymeric MoO2 (O2PCl2) · POCl3 1 is obtained by the reaction of MoCl5 and P2O3Cl4, while MoO2Cl2 · POCl3 2 is formed by passage of Cl2O into a solution of MoCl5 in POCl3. From magnetic measurements and IR data it appears that 1 contains no Mo-O-Mo system but Mo-O-P-O-Mo bridges. The IR and RAMAN spectra of 2 were assigned by comparison with the spectrum of MoO2Cl2 · H2O.

Macro-heterocyclic compounds, such as porphyrins and phthalocyanines, are being studied extensively for their important physical and chemical properties. Their ability to absorb light throughout the spectrum and self-organization being adequate for the realization of several applications. Investigations of the spectral properties of the supramolecular assembly RhTMPyP/ ZnTSPc- 5,10,15,20 rhodium tetramethyl-pyridyl porphyrin / 2,9,16,23 zinc tetrasulfonated-phthalocyanine are registered by UV-Vis, FT-IR and Raman spectroscopic techniques.

The Cr 2 O 3 content influence on the structure of 70 TeO 2·25 B 2 O 3·5 SrO glasses, was investigated by infrared and Raman spectroscopies. The results show that BO 3 and BO 4 are among the main structural units in the investigated glasses, together with TeO 3 and TeO 4 units. The presence of chromium ions located in the glass network is well evidenced in the IR and Raman spectra.
