1-Bis(trimethylsilyl)aminogermatrane (3), the first germatrane bearing an amino group at the germanium atom, was synthesized by the reaction of 1 -hydroxygermatrane with bis[bis(trimethylsilyl)amino)]stannylene (1). 3 has been characterised by 1H ,13C, 29Si NMR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and by X-ray diffractometry.

The lead(II) Complex constructed with 5-hydroxyisophthalic acid, [Pb3(5-hipa)2]n•4H2O(1), (5-hipa = 5-hydro- xyisophthalic acid) has been synthesized by hydrothermal methods and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-ray single crystal diffraction. In trinuclear symmetrical complex 1, Pb1 is four-coordinated, Pb2 and Pb3 are three-coordinated by 5-nitroisophthalic acid groups, respectively, which is further connected through intermolecular hydrogen bonds resulting in a three-dimensional (3D) network.

The supramolecular features in these complexes are guided/controlled by weak directional intermolecular interactions.

Hydrothermal reactions of biphenyl-3,3'-dicarboxylate acid (H2bpda) with Manganese(II) chloride gave rise to one new coordination polymer, namely, [Mn(bpda)]n. It was characterized by elemental analysis and single - crystal X - ray diffraction methods. This compound has one Mn metal center and shows a 3D uninterpenetrating framework

AbstractTreatment of [Ru(acac)3] (acac−=acetylacetonate) with (2,4,5-Me3C6H2)MgBr, followed by column chromatography in air, afforded the homoleptic tetraaryl-ruthenium(IV) complex [Ru(2,4,5-Me3C6H2)4] (1) in moderate yield. The product was characterized by proton NMR spectroscopy and microanalyses. Its crystal structure has also been established by X-ray crystallography.

AbstractTwo new dialkyammonium selenate salts [i-Pr2NH2]2[SeO4] (1) and [n-Bu2NH2][HSeO4] (2) have been isolated and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Salt 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n with a=8.7190(5), b=8.8500(4), c=22.5953(9) Å, β=94.6290(17)°, V=1737.84(14) Å3 and Z=4. Salt 2 crystallizes in the monoclinic system space group P21/n with a=10.9328(9), b=8.1700(6), c=13.8095(11) Å, β=97.130(3)°, V=1223.94(17) Å3 and Z=4. In both salts, dialkylammonium cations and selenate anions are connected through NH···O and OH···O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, 1 and 2 are organized in layer-like arrangements. Structural characterizations were completed by infrared and 1H, 13C{1H} and 77Se NMR spectroscopy and elemental analysis which corroborate the X-ray elucidations.

Two new p-cymene ruthenium(II) complexes containing as additional ligands N-methylpiperazine ([(?6-p-cymene)RuCl2(CH3NH(CH2)4NH)]PF6, complex 1) or vitamin K3-thiosemicarbazone ([(?6-p-cymene)RuCl2(K3tsc)], complex 2) were synthesized starting from [(?6-p-cymene)2RuCl2]2 and the corresponding ligand. The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, electronic absorption and NMR spectroscopy. The X-ray crystal structure determination of complex 1 revealed ?piano-stool? geometry. The differences in the cytotoxic activity of the two complexes are discussed in terms of the ligand present.

AbstractA novel heptacoordinated thiosemicarbazonato lead(II) complex [Pb(4ML)(SCN)] (4ML = 2-Acetylpyridine-4N-methylthiosemicarbazonato) was synthesized and characterized by conventional methods (IR and elemental analysis) and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. [Pb(4ML)(SCN)] shows an unusual polymeric structure in which the lead atom is hexa-coordinate, the deprotonated thiosemicarbazone both chelates and bridges, and the thiocyanate group acts as bridge between lead(II)-thiosemicarbazonate fragments. There is hydrogen-bonding between the polymeric chains. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1̅̅ with a = 7.461(2), b = 9.572(2), c = 11.235(2) Å, α = 66.51(3), β = 84.01(3), γ = 68.75(3)°, V = 685.1(2) Å3, Z = 2.

The pyrithione derivative, bis{2-[(1-oxidopyridin-2-yl)sulfanyl]-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-3-ium} tetrachlorocuprate(2-) (1a) has been obtained by the reaction of one equivalent of 2-[(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)thio]pyridine 1-oxide hydrochloride with one and a half equivalents of copper (II) chloride dihydrate in methanol in a very good yield. The structure of this product was confirmed by X-ray crystallography, infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.
