ABSTRACT<br />This study provides an alternative to the farmers' decisions regarding the use of chemical<br />fertilizers, especially on maize. There are three indicators of fertilization ratings are: soil nutrients,<br />plant species and agricultural land. Knowledge of the fertilizer by farmers today is still conventional<br />in nature so there is no standard rules dose of fertilizer use. Therefore built a system that can provide<br />an alternative consideration decisions for farmers.<br />Decision Support System methods used to solve the problems in this design is the Analytic<br />Hierarchy Process (AHP). AHP is used to combine judgments and values into one logical framework<br />of thinking, so as to enable a decision can be taken effectively.<br />Results are expected in this study were able to design a decision support system so that its<br />implementation provide accurate information in fertilization, farmers can reduce production costs<br />and agricultural products obtained can be increased.<br />Keywords: decision support system, Analytic Hierarchy Process, fertilizing<br />ABSTRAK<br />Penelitian ini memberikan alternatif keputusan kepada petani mengenai penggunaan pupuk<br />kimia khususnya pada tanaman jagung. Terdapat tiga indikator penilaian pemupukan yaitu: unsur<br />hara tanah, jenis tanaman dan luas lahan pertanian. Pengetahuan tentang pemupukan oleh petani saat<br />ini sifatnya masih konvensional sehingga tidak ada aturan yang baku penggunaan takaran<br />pemupukan. Oleh sebab itu dibangun sebuah sistem yang dapat memberikan alternatif pertimbangan<br />keputusan bagi petani.<br />Metode Sistem Pendukung Keputusan yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan<br />pada perancangan ini adalah Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). AHP digunakan untuk<br />menggabungkan penilaian-penilaian dan nilai-nilai kedalam satu kerangka berfikir yang logis,<br />sehingga memungkinkan keputusan dapat diambil secara efektif.<br />Hasil yang diharapkan dalam penelitian ini adalah dapat merancang sistem pendukung<br />keputusan sehingga dalam implementasinya memberikan informasi yang akurat dalam pemupukan,<br />petani dapat menekan biaya produksi dan hasil pertanian yang diperoleh dapat meningkat.<br />Kata Kunci: sistem pendukung keputusan, Analytic Hierarchy Process, pemupukan.

This research develops an initial proposal of a Decision Support System –DSS– to plan the production and distribution of new fresh agricultural products. This system is based on a hierarchical approach, which can be applied to enterprises as a planning module or as a stand-alone system for crop production. In this paper is stressed the importance of the DSS for small and medium-sized companies, or for small group of growers that need to improve coordination between their growing and market decisions. The DSS covers the strategic, tactical and operational decisions for every season, focusing on new product introduction. The aim of DSS is increasing the competitiveness of growers in a highly variable and complex marketplace. The agri-food sector still needs evolving to meet increasing demands, understand particular tastes of new consumers and evaluating the requirements of new players.
