Muscular Dystrophy in Man and Animals
This volume of twelve chapters by multiple contributors is the most comprehensive treatment of the subject of muscular dystrophy and related disorders available to date. It is under the editorship of a worker in the field. Gross and microscopic pathology, findings on electron-microscopy, and the results of tissue culture studies are discussed in the first five chapters. Chapters VI, VII, and VIII deal with the clinical aspects of this and related myopathies. Findings in metabolic and endocrine myopathies, in polymyositis, and in congenital disorders are available for comparison. Chapter VI, which deals with the clinical aspects of human muscular dystrophy, is particularly valuable in its detailed exposition of the symptoms and signs in these entities.
