The preservation of healthy dental structures contributes to the practice of a conservative dentistry. This concept involves the implementation of biological and mechanical principles in a more predictable manner. Minimally invasive cavity preparations are the complement to the selection of adhesive and composite resin materials. The correct application of an adhesive protocol will provide imperceptible aesthetic restorations and adequate clinical performance.

Defects that occur during the development of anterior teeth are often associated with aesthetic problems. Although enamel hypomineralization does not significantly increase the risk of caries, it causes patients to experience psychosocial problems. A 23-year-old female patient presented to our clinic complaining of white opacity and discolorations in her anterior teeth.  After the systemic and dental anamnesis of the patient, minimally invasive treatment of resin infiltration was planned. In addition, anterior composite resin restorations with impaired color matching was renewed. The patient was recalled 13 months after the treatment. A significant decrease was observed in the appearance of enamel hypomineralizations. The patient was satisfied with the outcome of the treatment. Furthermore, the durability of the treatment after 13 months is satisfactory.

Minimally invasive approach lead composite resin veneers restorations as a conservative and alternative treatment option, with the aim to improve the aesthetics anterior dentition. Clinically, this treatment reducing the clinical time and has a lower cost than indirect technique. In addition, new resin composite was developed to support the clinician to make more natural restorations. The present case report aim to evaluated the clinical performance of direct composite veneer technique was restored with 100% supra-nano spherical filler composite. A 39-year-old female, searched for restorative treatment of anterior teeth, which were unaesthetically altered. In the clinical examination, it was observed color alterations in maxillary left and right incisors and canines due to use of medicines, and bruxism. The treatment plan included an in-office dental bleaching, removal of inadequate anterior restorations and confection of composite veneers restorations. The dental bleaching was performed with hydrogen peroxide 35% activated by LED/laser in two sessions. Those restorations were performed using supra-nano spherical resin-based composite, color A1 for dentin and enamel, with direct composite laminate veneer technique. After six-month follow-up, the restorations presented good clinical aspect, absence of biofilm accumulation and abrasive wear. Therefore, direct veneer restorations may be alternative treatment for anterior teeth esthetic problems, suggesting a promising performance of these new composites.Descriptors: Esthetics, Dental; Composite Resins; Dental Veneers.

Introduction: Fractures at upper anterior teeth are common. In root fracture cases, a dental implant approach proves to be a viable alternative sometimes. Several materials can be used in implant rehabilitation processes. Zirconia, a proven material for restorative purposes, is being employed for biological, functional, and aesthetic ends. In other situations, only the fractured teeth’s restoration with composite resin can rehabilitate their aesthetics and use. Objective: The purpose hereof is to report the use of the immediate implantinstallation technique after an upper incisor extraction with the diagnosis of root fracture, and a coronary fracture zirconia rehabilitation and restoration with a composite resin. Case report: A 24-year-old patient fractured the left central and lateral upper incisors. Tooth 21 received a zirconia crown implant and tooth22 was treated with a composite resin made with nanotechnology. Conclusion: Zirconia and composite resin are materials that present satisfactory biological, functional, and aesthetic features to restore fractured anterior teeth.

Dental trauma injuries occur more frequently in upper anterior teeth, especially in enamel and dentin without pulp involvement. This article presents a clinical case report of a patient dissatisfied with the color of the tooth 21 restoration performed after suffering dental trauma. The format was adequate, so a previous molding of the palatal region was performed, and a condensing silicone guide was made. The use of the palatal guide facilitates the execution of the restoration and guides the layering of selected resins. Following the Natural Stratification concept, this case demonstrated a restorative treatment of direct restorations in composite resin, which can be considered an alternative for fractured anterior teeth, presenting clinical agility and excellent esthetic results.

This case report describes a patient with discolored and fractured composite resin restorations on the anterior teeth in whom substitution was indicated. After wax-up and mock-up, the composite was removed and replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates. An established and predictable protocol was performed using resin cement. Minimally invasive ceramic restorations are increasingly being used to replace composite restorations. This treatment improves the occlusal and periodontal aspects during the planning and restorative phases, such as anterior guides, and laterality can be restored easily with ceramic laminates. In addition, the surface smoothness and contour of ceramic restorations do not affect the health of the surrounding periodontal tissues. Here we present the outcome after 18 months of clinical follow-up in a patient in whom composite resin restorations in the anterior teeth were replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates.

Keeping in mind the final result is the basis of any type of treatment, especially those in which the morphology, size and proportion of the anterior teeth will be changed. This is where a good treatment plan based on a diagnostic wax-up tested with a mock-up and approved by the patient becomes crucial. This case report aims to exemplify how to transfer the diagnostic information to the patient’s mouth and direct it not only to the restorative dentistry, but also to the surgeon when performing the crown length. Diagnostic waxing was performed by the laboratory technician, obeying anterior posterior incisal and gingival criteria and curvatures, which were transported to an aesthetic guide through mock up to mark the surgical points. Then, surgery to increase the clinical crown with bone access and after healing, direct venners in composite resin also guided by waxing. In conclusion, a workflow can be established using the wax-up / mock-up that serves as a guide for the periodontist in the approach to surgical lengthening of the crown and for the rehabilitator who uses it to produce changes in the shape of dental dimensions .

Statement of the problem: restoring endodontically treated teeth (ETT) is one of the major treatments provided by a dentist. Glass fiber posts (GFP) showed good clinical performance during last few years.Aim of the study; to assess and compare the clinical as well as the radiographic performance of different types of ceramic crown systems used in restoration of maxillary anterior teeth over a cemented GFP and composite resin core.Materials and methods: 50 ETT with GFP were included in this study. These teeth were divided into four gropes (composite resin. Porcelain fused to metal (PFM), e. max and zirconia restorations). Both the clinical and radiographic assessments were done for the restoration at a period of one week, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months after composite build up and crown's cementations. All data were registered and analyzed by SPSS program using percentages and Kaplan-Meyer analysis. Fisher’s exact test was used for categorical values while log-rank test was used for descriptive statistical analysis.Results: the clinical assessment showed no changes in the one week, 3 and 6 months in the four groups. While during the 9 and 12 months, a movement of the crown margin under finger pressure was present in one case, loss or retention in 2 cases of zirconia, the periodontal status with violation of biological width was present in one case of PFM and finally the color changes were obvious in one case of PFM and 2 cases of composite restoration. All the restorations in the four groups had no radiographic changes in the one week and three-month assessments. While during six-month follow-up, a loosed of retention in one case of the zirconia crown was detected. At the 9 and 12 months, two cases showed recurrent caries at the cervical margin of the composite restoration, cases with periapical infection and other with loss of retention of the post were recorded in the PFM restoration.Conclusion: e. Max and zirconia all ceramic crowns showed better clinical and radiographic performance than the PFM and composite restorations over 12 months recall.
