Defects that occur during the development of anterior teeth are often associated with aesthetic problems. Although enamel hypomineralization does not significantly increase the risk of caries, it causes patients to experience psychosocial problems. A 23-year-old female patient presented to our clinic complaining of white opacity and discolorations in her anterior teeth.  After the systemic and dental anamnesis of the patient, minimally invasive treatment of resin infiltration was planned. In addition, anterior composite resin restorations with impaired color matching was renewed. The patient was recalled 13 months after the treatment. A significant decrease was observed in the appearance of enamel hypomineralizations. The patient was satisfied with the outcome of the treatment. Furthermore, the durability of the treatment after 13 months is satisfactory.

The preservation of healthy dental structures contributes to the practice of a conservative dentistry. This concept involves the implementation of biological and mechanical principles in a more predictable manner. Minimally invasive cavity preparations are the complement to the selection of adhesive and composite resin materials. The correct application of an adhesive protocol will provide imperceptible aesthetic restorations and adequate clinical performance.

Brief Background Molar incisor hypomineralisation (MIH) is a common developmental condition resulting in enamel defects in first permanent molars and permanent incisors. Aesthetic treatment of patients suffering from MIH is essential to enhance their self-esteem and promote their psychological development. Current trends for treating the condition have been increasingly shifting towards minimally invasive approaches, especially considering the age of patients. The decision regarding which treatment modality to undertake for the same is complex and depends on several factors, such as the degree of severity of the enamel defect, the patient’s age, social level and expectations. Pertaining to that, the aim of this case report is to present three different aesthetic and conservative treatment approaches to anterior teeth affected by molar incisor hypomineralisation. This case report describes a patient with discolored and fractured composite resin restorations on the anterior teeth in whom substitution was indicated. After wax-up and mock-up, the composite was removed and replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates. An established and predictable protocol was performed using resin cement. Minimally invasive ceramic restorations are increasingly being used to replace composite restorations. This treatment improves the occlusal and periodontal aspects during the planning and restorative phases, such as anterior guides, and laterality can be restored easily with ceramic laminates. In addition, the surface smoothness and contour of ceramic restorations do not affect the health of the surrounding periodontal tissues. Here we present the outcome after 18 months of clinical follow-up in a patient in whom composite resin restorations in the anterior teeth were replaced with minimally invasive ceramic laminates.

ABSTRACT Primary teeth have an important role in the growth and development of the child, besides being important for the good performance of masticatory function, phonation, occlusion and aesthetics, are the best space maintainers and eruption guide for the permanent successor. For anterior region, there are different alternatives of rehabilitation treatment, however, it is up to the professional to choose the best option. Objective To present a therapeutic management of upper incisors affected by carious lesion with intrarradicular pin in early childhood. Case report: male patient, with 2 years and 7 months of age and significant loss of dental structure at an early stage. In the impossibility of performing direct restoration, we opted for the rehabilitation with the use of glass fiber pins for intraradicular reinforcement and composite resin restorations in order to restore shape, function and aesthetics. Conclusion The use of fiberglass intra-radicular pins associated with direct restoration of composite resin is a recommended technique for the reconstruction of anterior teeth with great destruction.

SUMMARY Composite resin may make a restoration noticeable as time passes, on account of its color instability. The repair technique is a minimally invasive treatment for class IV composite resin restorations that show unsatisfactory coloration. Thus, the objective of the present article was to report a clinical case involving a conservative technique used for repairing a class IV composite resin restoration in the left maxillary central incisor and the replacement of a class IV restoration in the right maxillary central incisor.

SUMMARY The aim of this study was to report a clinical case of moderate fluorosis spots treated with infiltration of low-viscosity resin. A commercial resin was applied to the facial surfaces on the anterior teeth in both the maxillary and mandibular arches. The white spots of fluorosis lost their whitish appearance and appeared similar to sound enamel. This technique, which might constitute an alternative to white-masking of fluorosis spots, showed optimal esthetic results.

SUMMARYIn some patients with labial white stains involving the enamel and dentin, bleaching associated with a restorative procedure using composites may be an appropriate treatment alternative. Although bleaching makes the teeth and the stain whiter, the staining is less evident and easier to restore. Restorative procedures using adequate composites may then recover the natural optical properties while also providing appropriate mechanical properties, thereby ensuring the longevity of the treatment. In this article, the clinical case of a 9-year-old patient who reported dissatisfaction with her smile because of the presence of hypoplastic enamel staining at the central superior and inferior incisors is reported. The treatment consisted of a bleaching protocol followed by composite resin restorations using the stratification technique. The final esthetic result demonstrated the possibility of obtaining a natural smile with an adequate color and natural-looking restorations, thereby ensuring the esthetics and the patient's functional satisfaction.

Introduction: Fractures at upper anterior teeth are common. In root fracture cases, a dental implant approach proves to be a viable alternative sometimes. Several materials can be used in implant rehabilitation processes. Zirconia, a proven material for restorative purposes, is being employed for biological, functional, and aesthetic ends. In other situations, only the fractured teeth’s restoration with composite resin can rehabilitate their aesthetics and use. Objective: The purpose hereof is to report the use of the immediate implantinstallation technique after an upper incisor extraction with the diagnosis of root fracture, and a coronary fracture zirconia rehabilitation and restoration with a composite resin. Case report: A 24-year-old patient fractured the left central and lateral upper incisors. Tooth 21 received a zirconia crown implant and tooth22 was treated with a composite resin made with nanotechnology. Conclusion: Zirconia and composite resin are materials that present satisfactory biological, functional, and aesthetic features to restore fractured anterior teeth.

Background: Trauma to the anterior teeth is common in young children and in adolescents. Uncomplicated crown fracture to the permanent teeth has an intense effect not only on the patient’s esthetics, but also on speech and function. Aim: Performing an economical, a minimally invasive, time-saving, long lasting, functional and natural alike direct composite resin restorations in a single visit. Conclusion: As restoring a fractured tooth structure is a complex procedure, this technique can prove to be a simple, effective and appropriate technique that will fulfill all the requirements of dental practioner without requiring special skills in providing the patients with direct composite restorations. Clinical Significance: This technique is economical which requires less chair side time compared to indirect restorations.

Dental fluorosis can be defined as a developmental condition that affects dental hard tissue, mainly enamel characterised with white or yellowish lesions due to excessive fluoride exposure. Fluorosis can have a major impact on the appearance, structure and shape of the tooth which posed a significant aesthetic concern to individuals having this condition. There are several treatments recommended in treating dental fluorosis depending on the severity of the disease itself ranging from tooth bleaching to prosthetic crowns in severe cases. This case report describes the use of resin infiltration technique on a patient with mild to moderate severity of dental fluorosis of the upper anterior teeth which produce an acceptable improvement of the appearance of the affected tooth. Resin infiltration technique in this case provided a conservative and inexpensive approach in treating mild to moderate dental fluorosis for the patient, improving the aesthetic without significant loss of tooth structure.
