The geographic distribution of Hatcheria macraei (Girard 1855), the Patagonian Catfish, is herein extended north of the Río Colorado headwaters, the previous northernmost record for the species. H. macraei is registered from the Río Jagüé, in the headwaters of the Río Desaguadero basin (Northwestern Argentina). Morphometric and meristic data of collected specimens are included.

We present the first occurrence of Trachycephalus nigromaculatus Tschudi, 1838 in the state of Piauí. This new record is from southern Piauí and represents the northwestern known occurrence record of this species, expanding its geographic distribution.

Sigmodontine rodents are well represented in northwestern Argentina, but information regarding their distribution in La Rioja is scarce. We add new information for seven species from seven localities in the Famatina range. These new records were obtained using both captures and owl pellet analysis. We cite the first record of Neotomys ebriosus in La Rioja. The collection locality is unusual for this species because of its low altitude and xeric conditions. Other notable results include the second record of Abrothrix andinus and of the genus Oligoryzomys at the province.

The genus Xenohyla is currently composed of two species, X. truncata (Izecksohn, 1959) and Xenohyla eugenioi Caramaschi, 1998. Both species are usually found inside bromeliads; X. truncata inhabits the restingas of the state of Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil, and X. eugenioi transitional areas between the Atlantic Forest and the Caatinga biomes in northeastern Brazil. We report the first record of X. eugenioi in the state of Sergipe, expanding the species geographic distribution by 423.4 km in a straight line in relation to its type locality, in the municipality of Maracás, south-central state of Bahia, Brazil.

We report a range extension of the Grey Woolly Monkey, Lagothrix cana, from southwestern Amazonia, Mato Grosso, Brazil. Lagothrix cana was seen in a forest fragment near the “arc of deforestation”. This new record shows the need for conservation of forests in the region to protect this endangered species.

Adelphobates castaneoticus uses the woody husks of Brazil nut trees, Bertholletia excelsa, (without nuts and filled with water) as oviposition sites. Three specimens of A. castaneoticus were found near Brazil nut trees in Novo Progresso, Pará State, Brazil. This record increases the distribution this species more than 500 km to the southwest.

The record of a new sample of <em>Dolichopoda</em> from Northern Iran is reported. The morphological study of this material allowed the authors to attribute the studied specimens to <em>D. Hyrcana</em> Bey-Bienko, 1969, whose geographic distribution now extends eastwards to the Alborz Mountains in North Iran.
