The genus Cuscuta L. (Convolvulaceae) are holoparasitic plants with cosmopolitan distributions, and they are usually difficult to identify. Based on several new field collections, we present three new floristic records from this genus in Central-West Brazil. Cuscuta platyloba Progel and Cuscuta partita Choisy are cited for the first time from Mato Grosso do Sul state, while Cuscuta xanthochortos var. carinata Mart., which was previously only known from southern Brazil, is also shown to be present in the Central-West region of the country. An identification key of Cuscuta species from Mato Grosso do Sul is also provided.

Xanthacrona Wulp, 1899 has been recorded in several countries of South America, but records in Brazil are few. Here, we record Xanthacrona tuberosa Cresson, 1908, Xanthacrona phyllochaeta Hendel, 1909, and Xanthacrona tripustulata Enderlein, 1921 for the first time from Brazil, and provide new records of Xanthacrona bipustulata Wulp, 1899 from the states Acre, Amazonas, Espírito Santo, Maranhão, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Roraima, and São Paulo.

In this paper a new species of Cryptachaea Archer, 1946 based on males and females is described from Brazilian caves: Cryptachaea pilar Santanna & Rodrigues, new species from the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo. The females of Cryptachaea parana (Levi, 1963) and C. schneirlai (Levi, 1959) are described and illustrated for the first time. Cryptachaea uviana (Levi, 1963) is synonymized with C. migrans (Keyserling, 1884). The species Cryptachaea alacris (Keyserling, 1884), C. benivia Rodrigues & Poeta, 2015, C. parana (Levi, 1963) and C. schneirlai (Levi, 1959) are recorded for the first from Brazil; and C. migrans for the first time from Bolivia. Additionally, new records from Brazilian caves are provided for Cryptachaea parana, from the states of Tocantins, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo; C. schneirlai and C. alacris from the state of Pará; C. dea (Buckup & Marques, 2006) and C. rioensis (Levi, 1963) from Pará and Minas Gerais, C. jequirituba (Levi, 1963) from Minas Gerais and C. benivia from São Paulo.

Eriosema grearii, a new species for the genus (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae, Phaseoleae, Cajaninae), is described and illustrated. Similar to E. heterophyllum, it differs from it morphologically by the free (vs. joined) stipules, lax flowers distributed along the inflorescence axis (vs. congested and concentrated at its apex), inflorescences not opposite to the leaves (vs. opposite), and leaflets with secretory cells at the base of trichomes (vs. absence of secretory cells at the base of trichomes). A survey of the leaflet secretory structures revealed that E. grearii has distinct secretory structures, referred here as secretory-base trichomes, and reported for the first time for the Phaseoleae tribe. An identification key for the Eriosema species in Mato Grosso do Sul, where the new species occurs, is provided.

Plantago commersoniana is a rare and threatened species, with a highly disjunct distribution, mainly in southern Brazil. This study expands its distribution to Mato Grosso do Sul state, in the Central-West region of Brazil, due to the discovery of a collection of this species from rocky grasslands in Ponta Porã. This new record is ca. 285 km distant from the nearest known population, in Yhú, Caaguazú department, eastern Paraguay. This is also the first record of a native Plantago species in Mato Grosso do Sul. Its conservation status according to the IUCN criteria is Endangered (EN).

Endlicheria lhotzkyi is the first time recorded for the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso do Sul, collected in the municipal district of Sonora, north of the state. Taxonomic comments and an identification key of Endlicheria species from Mato Grosso do Sul is presented.

The male of Aillutticus rotundus Galiano, 1987 is described for the first time and new records are presented from the states of Acre, Mato Grosso do Sul and São Paulo, Brazil. In addition, five new species of this genus are described from Brazil: A. knysakae sp. nov. from the states of Minas Gerais, Piauí and Tocantins, A. montanus sp. nov. from the state of Minas Gerais, A. raizeri sp. nov. from the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, A. soteropolitano sp. nov. from the state of Bahia, and A. viripotens sp. nov. from the states of Rondônia and Tocantins.

The taxonomic history of Bumba Pérez-Miles, Bonaldo & Miglio, 2014 is mainly based on the inclusion of the new species. Bumba have been characterized by the type IV urticating setae present, retrolateral process on male palpal tibia, palpal bulb resting in a ventral distal excavation of palpal tibia, metatarsus I passes between the two branches of tibial apophysis when flexed, presence of spiniform setae on prolateral and retrolateral sides of maxillae and coxae I-IV. In this paper we include the row of teeth (denticulate row) in the median region of the inferior prolateral keel in all male palps. This structure range from a residual tooth to a ridge of up to five teeth. Both, the denticulate row and the retrolateral process on male palpal tibia in males could be considered as putative synapomorphies for Bumba. Here, Homoeomma humile Vellard, 1924 is transferred to Bumba and redescribed, while the female is described for the first time. Bumba cabocla (Pérez-Miles, 2000) is synonymyzed with B. horrida (Schmidt, 1994). Bumba pulcherrimaklaasi (Schmidt, 1991) is transferred to Cyclosternum Ausserer, 1871. Four new species are described and illustrated: Bumba tapajossp. nov. from state of Pará, Bumba cuiabasp. nov. and Bumba rondoniasp. nov., both from states of Rondônia and Mato Grosso, respectively, and Bumba mineirossp. nov. from Paraguay and the Brazilian states of Goiás, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. Diagnosis of B. horrida and B. lennoni are extended and figures of this species are presented.

Vieira Navás, 1913 is a small genus of green lacewings of the Neotropical region with 5 recognized species. One species, Vieira flinti Sosa & Tauber, 2017, was recently described from Venezuela and northeastern Brazil. In this study, we record V. flinti for the first time in the states of São Paulo (at Piracicaba) and Mato Grosso do Sul (at Campo Grande) in the Southeast and Midwest regions of Brazil, respectively. Photographs and a distribution map are provided.

We report the occurrence of nematodes collected from the gut of roadkilled crab-eating foxes (two adult males and one juvenile female), Cerdocyon thous (Linnaeus, 1766), found on the BR 262 highway in Mato Grosso do Sul state, Brazil in 2011. Three helminth species were identified: Ancylostoma buckleyi, Pterygodermatites (Multipectines) pluripectinata, and Ascaridia galli. These nematodes are reported for the first time to infect C. thous from the Brazilian Pantanal wetlands, thereby expanding their geographical distribution.

The spider genus Stemmops O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1894, currently comprises 22 described species. Spiders of this genus are mainly known from the Neotropical Region, but are poorly studied in Brazil. In this paper five new species of Brazilian Stemmops are described: Stemmops murici new species; Stemmops carauari new species; Stemmops carajas new species; Stemmops pains new species, and Stemmops guapiacu new species. Additionally, new records from Brazil are provided for Stemmops carius Marques & Buckup, 1996 from state of São Paulo; Stemmops belavista Marques & Buckup, 1996 from Mato Grosso do Sul; and Stemmops vicosa Levi, 1964 from Alagoas. The species Stemmops servus Levi, 1964 (known from Panama) is recorded for the first time in Brazil from states of Amazonas, Paraíba, Alagoas, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro.
