The aim of the study: to determine the effectiveness of the drug Epigalin® Brest in the treatment of fibrocystic breast disease in women. Materials and methods. The study included 50 women with an established diagnosis of fibrocystic breast disease (diffuse cystic mastopathy). All women complained of pain and swelling of both breast 3-20 days before the start of menstruation. By blind randomization, all women were divided into 2 groups. Patients of the first group used the drug Epigalin® Brest 1 tablet 2 times a day for three months. Patients of the second group used the drug prostrate summer cypress on the approved user scheme. Patients of both groups did not differ in age (from 22 to 48 years, mean age 35 years). All patients during General examination were performed ultrasound of the breast, and patients older than 40 years also performed the mammogram. Patients of both groups were found multiple cysts in both breasts, the size of which ranged from 3 mm to 22 mm. the average size of the cysts groups were comparable. To assess the effectiveness of treatment in both groups was determined by three parameters: 1. Pain in the Breasts, which were evaluated on a scale from 0 (no pain) to 10 (unbearable pain). 2. Tissue density breast, to determine which was performed by transient elastography (kPa). 3. The average diameter of the cyst. Results. According to the study in the first group identified the implementation of a positive effect of the drug Apigalin Brest. Patients in this group there was a decrease in the average degree of pain, i.e. the patient almost did not feel pain before menstruation, and the complete absence of cystic elements in the Breasts was detected in 90% of patients. No patient noted the deterioration of the breast during the observation. Patients of the second group the average degree of pain, but 10% of the patients noted aggravation of pain syndrome after discontinuation of the drug prostrate summer cypress. In 15% of patients in this group appeared again cysts, and their average diameter began to increase. Tissue density of the breast tended to increase. Conclusion. 1. Complex herbal preparation Epigalin® Brest is effective in the treatment of mastitis. In the case of regular use Apigalin Brest reduce by 68% the presence of cystic component in women with mastopathy. 2. Epigalin® Brest with regular use reduces the density of the tissue of the breast, realizing the function of oncoprotektor. 3. Epigalin® Brest significantly reduces pain before menstruation, which considerably improves the quality of life. Key words: mastopathy, pain, breast gland, treatment, Epigalin® Brest.

Cyclic mastalgia of varying intensity occurs every month in at least 70% of women, persistent pain in the mammary glands of moderate and severe degree is occur in about 50% of patients with benign mastopathy. The cause of mastodynia is the morphofunctional rearrangement of the glandular and stromal components of tissues with the expansion of ducts and proliferation of epithelial structures due to a lack of progesterone and an increase in prolactin levels. Therapy for cyclical and chronic mastalgia is empirical and not always effective. Herbal medicine with Vitex agnus-castus is a reasonable alternative to hormonal treatment for women suffering from cyclic mastalgia in combination with other manifestations of premenstrual syndrome. The main effect of such drugs is an increase of luteinizing hormone and progesterone synthesis, effect on the hypothalamic-pituitary system, prolactin and endorphins release, which can increase the level of endogenous opioids.Purpose of the study: to study the effect of the phytopreparation Prefemin (Vitex agnus-castus extract Ze 440) on the intensity of chronic pain syndrome in women with diffuse non-tumor breast lesion. Materials and methods. The study involved 30 women aged 22 to 43 years with various types of benign breast diseases and chest pain lasting at least 3 months. In 12 patients there was diffuse fibroadenoma, in 18 – diffuse cystofibroadenoma (small cystic variant) and duct ectasia.Results. Therapy with Prefemin (Ze 440) allowed to completely eliminate pain syndrome in 93.3% of women and to reduce the frequency of mastodynia in the group with moderate severity in 90.0% of patients with diffuse fibroadenoma and cystofibroadenoma.Conclusions. Phytopreparation Prefemin, which is obtained from the medicinal plant Vitex agnus-castus, has demonstrated high efficacy in the mastalgia treatment in women with diffuse fibrocystic breast disease. This drug was well tolerated and there were no side effects.

Microbubbles have various applications including their use as carrier agents for localized delivery of genes and drugs and in medical diagnostic imagery. Various techniques are used for the production of monodisperse microbubbles including the Gyratory, the coaxial electro-hydrodynamic atomization (CEHDA), the sonication methods, and the use of microfluidic devices. Some of these techniques require safety procedures during the application of intense electric fields (e.g., CEHDA) or soft lithography equipment for the production of microfluidic devices. This study presents a hybrid manufacturing process using micropipettes and 3D printing for the construction of a T-Junction microfluidic device resulting in simple and low cost generation of monodisperse microbubbles. In this work, microbubbles with an average size of 16.6 to 57.7 μm and a polydispersity index (PDI) between 0.47% and 1.06% were generated. When the device is used at higher bubble production rate, the average diameter was 42.8 μm with increased PDI of 3.13%. In addition, a second-order polynomial characteristic curve useful to estimate micropipette internal diameter necessary to generate a desired microbubble size is presented and a linear relationship between the ratio of gaseous and liquid phases flows and the ratio of microbubble and micropipette diameters (i.e., Qg/Ql and Db/Dp) was found.

Abstract This paper reports the synthesis of monodisperse spherical LiCoO2 particles in a wide range of average diameter using a urea-based-uniform-precipitation method. The average diameter of LiCoO2 particles can be varied from 2 to 14 lm with a uniform size distribution. The effective approach to maintain the size uniformity while changing the average size of LiCoO2 particles is to keep the ratio of [CO(NH2)2] to [CoSO4] at 8 even when the CoSO4 and urea concentrations are changed.
