The present study aimed to explore the impact of Islamic banks on the gross domestic product (GDP) in Dubai. A descriptive analytical approach was adopted. In order to meet the study’s goals, the researcher reviewed the relevant theoretical literature and previous studies. Questionnaire forms were distributed to the selected sample. The sample consists from 100 employees. They were selected from the credit facilities department of two Islamic banks located in Dubai. It was found that Islamic banks and finance can significantly raise the gross domestic product (GDP). It was found that the Islamic banks can significantly raise the gross domestic product (GDP) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in general and Dubai in particular. The researcher recommends developing and innovating new funding, banking and investment products in the aim of meeting the demands of customers. These products mustn’t violate the provisions of Sharia (Islamic law). In addition, the researcher recommends using the modern technologies and skills at banks. That shall participate in achieving development.

Purpose – This study aims to compare the performance of Islamic banking before and after the Islamic defense action. The action to defend Islam is a manifestation of populism, which resulted in mixed responses.Method – Financial performance consisting of return on assets (ROA), financing to deposit ratio (FDR), third party funds (DPK), non performing financing (NPF) and profit sharing financing on total financing were analyzed from 30 Islamic commercial banks and Sharia business units in Indonesia. The data were analyzed using different test paired sample T-test.Result – The results show that only TPF and FDR have significant differences. The DPK value increases, while the FDR decreases.Implication – This study can support industry to consider aspects needed to be taken care of during political events.Originality – This study enriches the empirical study of political and business interaction.

The aim of this research is to compare conventional and Islamic banks in various aspects of credit risk management processes. The study used 200 questionnaires, collected from 21 traditional banks and 4 Islamic banks in Lebanon. The results found that differences in the various issues of credit management between Islamic and conventional banks. Islamic banks are more understanding, aware, and cautious in their approach than traditional banks. Islamic banks are more efficient in assessing and analyzing credit risk than conventional banks. Lastly, Islamic banks are more used to credit risk mitigation than traditional banks.
