Since the early 1990’s there have been significant changes in the gas turbine, and power generation market place. The ‘F-Class’ Gas Turbines, with higher firing temperatures, single crystal materials, increased compressor pressure ratios and low emission combustion systems that were introduced in the early 1990’s have gained significant field experience. Many of the issues experienced by these new product introductions have been addressed. The actual reliability growth and current performance of these advanced technology machines will be examined. Additionally, the operating profiles anticipated for many of the units installed during this period has been impacted by both changes in the anticipated demand and increases in fuel costs, especially the cost of natural gas. This paper will review how these changes have impacted the Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability performance of gas turbines. Data from the ORAP® System, maintained by Strategic Power Systems, Inc, will be utilized to examine the actual RAM performance over the past 10 to 15 years in relation to goals and expectations. Specifically, this paper will examine the reliability growth of the F-Class turbines since the 1990’s and examine the reliability impact of duty cycle on RAM performance.

ABSTRACT:Cerebral arteriovenous malformations (AVM), regardless of the mode of discovery, have an annual risk of hemorrhage of approximately 4 percent. A progressive obliterative vasculitis culminating in the occlusion of an AVM may be induced by the administration of radiation doses of approximately 20 Gy given in a single fraction. The process takes about two years and occlusion occurs in approximately 80% of patients so treated. Such a dose may be accurately administered to AVMs up to 3 cm in diameter with very little radiation imparted to the adjacent brain by means of multiple highly collimated radially arranged cobalt sources (the Gamma Knife) or by means of a modified linear accelerator turned through an arc or arcs with the target AVM as the centre of rotation. The Gamma Knife and the modified linear accelerator have nearly equal accuracy. Recent experience with modified linear accelerators indicates efficacy equal to the Gamma Knife. Both devices are effective treatment for small AVMs but the cost of modifying a pre-existing linear accelerator is only a few percent of the acquisition and installation costs of the Gamma Knife.

This article describes the author's approach to the analysis of the frequency of the biological terms in the printed texts of school textbooks of the full course of the biology of Kazakhstan secondary schools, allowed to reduce the cost of time for the processing in ten times. The authors of the article analyze the advantages and disadvantages of applications for text analysis and voice processing and offer their algorithm of fast counting of keywords in traditional texts. This research was carried out within the framework of the grant funding project of the Department of Science and Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the theme Creation of Trilingual Dictionary of Biological Terms with a Linguacultural Component.

On 6th and 7th February 2018, a Think Tank took place in Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was a follow-up of the “Big Data Training School for Life Sciences” held in Uppsala, Sweden, in September 2017. The focus was on identifying topics of interest and optimising the programme for a forthcoming “Advanced” Big Data Training School for Life Science, that we hope is again supported by the COST Action CHARME (Harmonising standardisation strategies to increase efficiency and competitiveness of European life-science research - CA15110). The Think Tank aimed to go into details of several topics that were - to a degree - covered by the former training school. Likewise, discussions embraced the recent experience of the attendees in light of the new knowledge obtained by the first edition of the training school and how it comes from the perspective of their current and upcoming work. The 2018 training school should strive for and further facilitate optimised applications of Big Data technologies in life sciences. The attendees of this hackathon entirely organised this workshop.

The study examines managing teacher education and innovative reforms agenda for curriculum execution in secondary schools in Imo state, Nigeria. The study adopted descriptive survey design. The population comprised of Five hundred and thirty (530) secondary school Principal in Imo state school system. The sample consisted of 200 duty principals randomly selected by stratified technique from each of the three education zones of the state, Okigwe, Orlu, and Owerri. Fifteen (15) items questionnaire was the instruments for data collection and the instrument was validated by experts in Imo state University, Owerri. The questionnaire which recorded a reliability coefficient of 0.89 was administered face to face to 200 respondents by the researchers who also retrieved same. The data collected were analyzed with mean and standard deviation and null hypothesis were tested using the z-test statistics at 0.05 level of significance. Based on the results, the researchers made crucial recommendations that government and stakeholders in education should emphasize on managing teacher education and innovative reform agenda to enhance development of the nation.

One of the reasons for the delay of the Indonesian children in the educational process is that the cost of the school curricula taught by the conservation of materials. Research has shown that the educational process has been held in many grades and does not result in anything but insult and malaise. Therefore, this research aims to describe the curriculum and the curriculum for teaching Arabic in secondary school in Indonesia and evaluate its results.

Australia and Israel both have centralised machinery for the determination of national wage policy. In Australia, the Conciliation and Arbitration Commission holds an annual national wage hearing. In Israel, a national framework agreement for determining wage levels is bargained and signed by the parties every two years. In addition, both countries have periodical arrangements for adjusting wages as a result of movement in the cost of living. This article compares the indexation arrangements of the two countries and analyses their impact on industrial relations.
